Prayer Requests 1-14-16

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 65

¹Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Zion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.

O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:

Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:

Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.

Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

10 Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.

11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.

12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.

13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.

  1. Fourth day of beating at chapter one. I’m ready to leave it behind and flee to chapter two, but could use prayers for imagination–or that I would “get’ into the groove. This has gone much harder than usual, but I always have trouble with the first chapter.

  2. Heavenly Father,
You are our Providence in times of need. Michelle stands at a time of need. She wants to do her best for You and her readers. Please inspire her with fresh thoughts that could only come from Your greatness. Make it obvious to her and to all that people made in Your image have a vast creative spark to be set aflame by You. Please delight Michelle as she has a light of insight flash brightly within her mind. I pray that the thoughts You give will all fit together like that jigsaw puzzle we’ve been talking about with a design true to Your heart of love. Thank You for how I know You will bless Michelle when she fully relaxes into Your love today. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  3. Thanks all. I’ve done well today and am into chapter 3 rewrite. Much happier, now.

LOL, Jo I have to GET to 1914 before I can use Poppy’s imagination! 🙂

Meanwhile, what happened in the summer of 1908 Brooklyn? Front page news is Theodore Roosevelt decided not to run for reelection and William H. Taft was the Republican nominee . . . I’d never seen photos of Coney Island before and the Brooklyn Dodgers were playing.

My son is cooking dinner so I have another three hours to write. Is it possible I could get through chapter 3? That would be splendid. Ciao.

  4. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for helping Michelle along the way to her goal. You have blessed her and brought her to a new level of feelings about her work in progress.

I lift up Jo for whatever her current needs are. You know her better than anyone. If she has any struggles or disappointments, I pray You would help her through to better days. Please continue to energize and give her creative ideas for the classroom. Please keep her children and grandchildren in excellent health. May Jo feel Your perfect love enveloping her daily. I ask that she will find things she needs when she shops. Please meet her needs for transportation and safety. Thank You for the love her students have for her. Thank You for her trip to New Zealand and may she now be familiar enough with such holiday traveling that she feels free to again have future adventures.

I pray, Lord, that R and H might have a miracle tomorrow with the delivery of their baby.
Please keep them strong and may all family members enjoy the company of one another. Help them as they learn what must be done to take care of the baby. Many are praying for a miracle correction to the diagnosis. Please, if possible!!!

I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen
