Bad extended family situation Christmas Day. Not my family and I don’t know what happened–and am fine with that–but we can see the hurting hearts of people we love. Prayers for them and that we would have listening, not judging, ears when we hear the stories– even if years from now.
None of these folks are believers and as I get older, I find my heart hurts for those who don’t know how to apply grace, mercy and the simple, “let it go,” in emotional settings.
On another note, not sure how to respond these days hen people who ARE Christians prefer to wallow in their bitterness rather than recognize how hurtful their judging of others sounds and acts.
Perhaps this should be a QOD: as believers, what does it mean to submit to one another in love?
answered on the other thread. But, though I stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed a quiet peaceful Christmas, husband had to deal with that stuff. He is coming home early. I thought staying with somebody for ten days would be tough. But he is coming home early as he misses the peace.
Meantime, prayer for nineteen year old as she figures out her trip after missing her bus halfway into it.
Relatives in the center of the above have accepted an invitation to lunch tomorrow. We’re merely trying to get to know them better–nothing to do with the holiday–but would appreciate prayers for wisdom and discernment as we love them over a meal. Thanks.
We will be getting a “wintry mix” after midnight, followed by sleet, & finally plain ol’ rain by tomorrow afternoon. Please pray for Lee’s safety while he delivers bakery products over a good portion of western Connecticut (& begins & ends his day at the bakery in Massachusetts). He does a lot of driving, not all of it on highways. (He leaves home around 1:15am, so he’ll be driving in that wintry mix.)
