It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia, and for Ajisuun as well.
Anyone else?
Psalm 42
¹As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
8 Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
This afternoon & evening is going to be the third day in a row that Chrissy & I will be babysitting Forrest in the evening, & needing to put him to bed. He’s been getting more resistant to settling down for sleep, & Chrissy is picked up before he is asleep, so I’m the one who has to deal with him.
On top of that, I haven’t gotten enough sleep lately, so I am over-tired today, & feeling grumpy. I would really like to just relax as much as possible (along with doing the things I usually do during a day) before having to babysit, but we have some errands we have to get done in another town, & will be gone for a while. (Okay, I’ll admit that part of my grumpiness is that Lee added to the number of places we have to stop while we’re out. 😦 )
So please pray for my attitude to pick up. And for Chrissy’s attitude, too. She was in an especially impatient, grumpy mood last night.
Most certainly praying for Ajisuun and the whole situation in The Gambia.
Prayers for you and Art, Janice; and also for you, Chrissy and Forrest, Karen.
Karen, is there some way Forrest can get some extended time outside today after school? Young boys often need lots of physical activity and fresh air to be able to sleep well. Being confined to a desk/schoolroom for much of the day is not conducive to falling asleep efficiently at night. You might consider encouraging whoever has him in the afternoon (after school gets out) to get him outside for an extended period before it’s dark out.
The approaching holidays can bring on a lot of grumpiness and restlessness I think. There’s a build-up psychologically (and physically) that takes its toll, even if you’re planning a fairly simple Christmas.
I just ordered the last of my gifts needed online today — then there’s a wrapping to do (and I haven’t even decorated). Of course, living alone gives me a lot more flexibility, although a friend is coming over Saturday so I should at least buy a potted poinsettia to stick on the mantle I suppose … I may string a few lights outside, but we’ll see.
6 Arrows – Yes, we do have Forrest spend time outside most days. Even yesterday, he was outside “doing hard work” (in his words 🙂 ) in the yard. (He was filling the wheelbarrow with leaves & wheeling them over to the back of the yard. He loves to help with yard work.)
We will be changing from having him fall asleep on the couch downstairs to having him fall asleep upstairs in bed. (Having him down here has been more comfortable for me, & it used to work out well, but it’s not working out so well anymore.)
Thank you for the prayers. We actually had a nice time while we were out. Emily came along with us, because she had a place she needed to go in that town (about half an hour away), so we dropped her off while we went to another store, then picked her up again. Had a nice time talking & laughing in the car, then picked up Chrissy on the way back to Stafford.
Now, just keep those prayers coming for this evening. 😉 Thank you!
Also, please pray for my audiologist, Brian. At my appointment today (for periodic cleaning of my hearing aids), he was telling me about the hard time he’s going through.
He was being upbeat, though, kidding about pouring his troubles out to me, & telling me I was being properly sympathetic with my reactions. I told him I would say some prayers for him.
Thank you for continuing prayers for us.

Oh! And please pray that Forrest settles down quickly tonight. Thanks!
(I’m grateful that we can share our non-earth-shattering prayer requests here, as well as the really important ones.)

Having Forrest fall asleep in his bed upstairs sounds like a good idea, Karen.

Keep praying for us, please. Things are not so good, but not sure what we need at this point except overall to get much better.

Art’s pain has increased. I will not be surprised if we end up in ER, again, but maybe not.
