Prayer Requests 12-12-15

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 39

¹I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.

My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,

Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am.

Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.

I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.

10 Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.

11 When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.

12 Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

13 O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.

  1. So I saw Carol for the first time since Thanksgiving — and for the first time since she took that spill in the street a couple weeks ago and dislocated her shoulder.

We had to return some books at the library and she had major issues just getting in and out of the car (it’s always a little struggle, but today I had to actually help pull her legs out of the car for her — she’s tall and big overall). She also had trouble getting up out of her chair/walker at the front desk to check out, she had to try numerous times to hoist herself up, the sweet young guy manning the desk was very patient but also looked concerned.

I’m thinking her traveling-errand days may be winding down if this is going to be the “new normal.” I’m afraid she’s going to fall or have some other mishap while I have her out.

And she’s still having issues with her speech and now says her hand also trembles (I wasn’t clear if that was before or after the fall, she told me both at different times I think, but it’s the same arm that was dislocated).

So I asked her if I could call the director of her residential facility on Monday to urge them to get her to a doctor for a good once-over for all of this and she said yes, please do.

They have a physician’s assistant come every Wednesday but they seem not to go very deep (Carol said to mention that to the director, too!). She said all that person does is prescribe medications.

Pray that the physical weakness I noticed today is from the fall & may be somewhat reversed with time, I hate seeing her become so limited — but either way, pray that she can get the medical attention she obviously needs.

  2. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for touching our lives with glimpses of Your glory. To behold it in full would be too much. A little at a time keeps us in awe.

Thank You for the special celebrationof the Christmas season and how it draws many to want to know more about Jesus. I pray for those who may not attend church at any other time to have their hearts stirred to want to become active and dedicated church members. I lift up those children of this blog family who have strayed from You to find their way back to never depart again. Please save lost souls of all we know and love who need Jesus.

Abba, I ask now for You to help Donna ‘ s friend, Carol. Please make a way for a thorough exam that will address all issues causing her movement impairment. May she be given good care even if it means getting to see a substitute doc or nurse practicioner who is more knowledgeable and caring to think with deep care and concern to properly treat patient’s problems. Please do not let a pill prescription to cover symptoms be all she receives. I pray for accountability to be put in place for the one who is not helping by letting problems get worse under the cover of prescribed meds. You give us meds to help yet some misuse them. Please set things right in this matter not only for Carol but for all those affected. You see it all and know it all.

Lord, I lift up Art for a good procedure tomorrow which will not result in agonizing pain. Please keep I pray for all involved in any aspect of his care to be feeling good in the a.m. and have their thoughts fully on doing their best. Thank You that we will be at my favorite facility this time. I trust I will feel Your comforting presence with me as I wait. May all the procedures performed tomorrow be successful and without complication.

Thank You for a pleasant birthday and for all who wished me well. The plumbing problem was unexpected but ended well. Thank You.

Please continue to bless A J ‘s family with healing and relief from pain and anxiety.

I continue to pray for safety in our nation and Israel and other areas where terrorism threaten. Please protect our troops. You know our enemies in both high places and those who hide underground and in plain site. Please let our enemies be scattered and unable to follow through on plots.

Thank You for meeting our needs and intercession brought be for You. You are acknowledged to be the only true God who is able to bring good in each situation. I pray in Jesus’ name,
    Amen

  3. And this: “Gambia now an ‘Islamic state'”

President Yahya Jammeh has declared the Gambia “an Islamic state”, but stressed that the rights of the Christian minority in the small west African country would be respected and that women would not be held to a dress code.

The announcement came as the president addressed supporters in the coastal town of Brufut on Thursday (local time), and the comments were later broadcast on state television and repeated on his website.

“Gambia’s destiny is in the hands of the Almighty Allah. As from today, Gambia is an Islamic state. We will be an Islamic state that will respect the rights of the citizens,” he was quoted as saying on the presidential website.

  4. 😦 The Gambia’s destiny is still in the hands of the Lord God Almighty who raised his son from the dead. May the Christians there be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. May they experience God’s peace beyond understanding and His resurrection power!

  5. Please pray for Art and me in the morning. He has his kidney stone blasting. I have not asked anyone to be with me since it is near Christmas and everyone is overloaded with busyness . It will be a long day. I need emotional and mental stamina.
    Thanks for your prayers.
