Prayer Requests 12-5-15

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 32

¹Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.

11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

  1. 6 Arrows – (responding to your late night/early morning comment) – You mentioned being much more tired not the day after a bad night’s sleep, but the day after that one. That is my experience, too. I think that happens to others, too.

Praying you will have the mental & physical energy & alertness you need for your show on Sunday.

  2. Praying, Tychicus.

Thanks, Karen. The tiredness pattern I mentioned has been the case for me almost as long as I can remember. HOWEVER, recently I had had a poor night’s sleep — don’t remember how much, but not nearly enough — and, as usual, I wasn’t too tired when I woke up, nor the rest of the day, and I went to bed around my usual time (11-something). THEN, I slept 12 hours and felt super rested that whole next day!! On the day I would have normally been tired!

So I would love it if I can get a great night’s sleep tonight, and be full of energy tomorrow! Thanks a million for your prayers on that front!

  3. Carol’s still in a lot of pain with her shoulder, I told her to keep it as immobile as possible. I’m just glad nothing broke. Found out a little bit more about her accident during our phone chat this morning — the fall occurred after dark (it gets dark here now by 5 p.m.), her shopping took longer than she anticipated and there had been a ramp/curb cut on the one side of the street so she assumed there also was one on the other side of the street as she was headed to her bus stop.

So her walker rammed into what turned out to be a straight curb and she pitched forward, landing half on the sidewalk and half in the street. Thankful so many seemed to come to her aid and that her injuries weren’t more serious. She used her right shoulder/arm to try to break her fall which is how the shoulder got dislocated.

Anyway, pray that she continues to heal and that the staff at her facility will be more helpful (they’re apparently short-handed there) and attentive to her medical needs. She wanted me to come by today but I’m just too busy — and, besides, I would definitely not want to take her out in her condition (and she would really want to go somewhere), she needs to stay put for a few days at least. I told her it’s a good time to just catch up on her reading and stay home.

  4. 6 Arrows, I’ve always heard that, about being more tired the second day; occasionally it works that way for me, but I think more commonly I’m tired the first day or (if it’s a night I really just didn’t need much sleep) or I get by without being tired at all.

For several years, maybe in my thirties, I discovered that periodically in the summer months I’d have a night I just wasn’t sleepy, and I’d get back up and I might get two hours the whole night. Initially it concerned me, but I discovered that on those nights I just didn’t need sleep–I wouldn’t be tired from its lack. After that, when I knew it was one of those nights and not insomnia, I accepted it as a “freebie,” a night that I could stay up and read or do whatever I wanted and not suffer for it. But it has now been several years since I’ve experienced it. But for six or eight years, I had it about three times per summer.

  5. That might be me today, Cheryl. I got about 3-4 hours of sleep last night, and don’t feel a bit tired. (I did get 10 hours of sleep the night before that, so maybe I’m riding that wave yet.) Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be just as energetic as today!

  6. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for peace in the evening hours that allow for good rest to refresh. I pray 6 Arrows is getting replenishment this evening so she can feel great for her performance. Please let everything flow without a twinge of difficulty the whole way through. May there be an extra noticeable sweetness to the sound for the audience so they feel Your presence among them. May You be glorified for Your provision of music and skilled musicians.

I have prayed previously for Tychicus’ s sermon and ask that it will be one that is taken to heart and pondered upon by one or several unsaved and that it would move them to action, to getting off the fence, and joining with the sheep in the Lord’s pasture. Please, may those needing to be dragged while digging in their heels be led by the opening of their hearts. May they only be able to move in Your direction through Your way alone. Thank You for saving the lost and sin sick souls.

Lord, please help Donna ‘ s long time friend, Carol. May she recover from her hurts, and thank You that her injury was not greater and that people helped her. You provided that help exactly when she needed it. I pray that she will get to move back to the better living situation. Thank You for helping her to be content when she does not always get her every desire. Please help her to always be thoughtful and reasonable with her requests of others. Thank You for Donna ‘ s giving and loving heart that patiently endures with friends through thick and thin.

Again this evening I have been lifting up Art to You for healing. He has seemed weak today and he needs to be gaining strength and resiliance to go through the next procedure. Please help him to get good rest and better nutrition. He isn’t having his usual appetite. Please help me to think of foods he might enjoy even though they are not highly seasoned with salt. Please help him learn to taste the goodness You put into all foods.

Please help Miss Bosley to settle down. She is creating a disturbance tonight seeking attention.

You have guided Jo through her situation. Thank You for helping make a good outcome that could only result through Your action and influence.

Thank You for listening and keeping me in Your perfect peace. I adore You. I praise You.

I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen

  7. I came on here to request more prayer for rest. I slept about a half an hour, but am awake now when I should be asleep. How lovely to see your prayer, Janice. Thank you. Praying for Art, as well as other needs.

  8. Janice, have you considered adding other seasonings to give lots of flavor instead of the salt? Pepper, garlic, rosemary, tarragon, etc. Also try adding more color. It is a “visual trick” that makes the brain think food is more tasty. I can’t stand how much they charge for red and yellow pepper then only charge change for the green ones, but at Wal Mart you can find the bags of the small assorted ones –actually Sam’s would be the better place to get that. Buy the organic salad greens there as well. They last so much longer. If you can find an old copy of “You on a Diet” by Dr, Oz (before he went goofy) and someone else there are some really good and flavorful meals in it. One of my favorites is chicken thighs (I usually don’t eat dark meat) white beans, chopped tomatoes, and oregano. You cook it in a foil pouch and it is delicious.
I will look for some more later to share with you.
