  1. AJ – (re: your question about how many refugees to accept) – That’s a different question. Saying that we should accept some refugees is not the same as advocating for taking an untold number of them.

  2. Here’s the answer to the question of Muslim nations taking in refugees. It turns out that Saudi Arabia and other some other Gulf states take refugees outside of the UN’s refugee program, so the UN does not list them as taking refugees.

“Saudi Arabia has said reports about its response to the Syrian refugee crisis are “false and misleading” and it has in fact given residency to 100,000 people as war rages in their country. . . .

“No Gulf country has signed the UN Convention on Refugees, which sets standards for the treatment and rights of those fleeing to a new country. . . .

“Saudi Arabia “made it a point not to deal with them as refugees” but had issued residency permits to 100,000 Syrians who wished to stay in the kingdom, the official said. . . .

“The kingdom had supported Syrian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and other countries in co-ordination with the host countries, while providing a total of about $700m in humanitarian aid, he said.

“At the same time Saudi Arabia and its neighbours in 2014 joined a US-led military coalition bombing extremist Islamic State group rebels in Syria.”

  3. Karen O, I can appreciate that they take in more than is mentioned through UN sources. I have also spent some time with some Muslims. Some from Africa. Some from Kuwait. Some Christian converts from Pakistan. Some Christians who were Iraqis. One thing I learned is that there is a definite caste system. Not all Muslims are alike, which is why we hear of Muslims killing Muslims. Our Kuwaiti friends explained it best, and I have mentioned it on here before. Certain Muslims were allowed to cook for them, another tier was allowed to babysit, another tier did housework, another tier did yard work. Very specific. I suspect, the refugees will not be at the top of the tier framework. The US would be expected, and should, to treat them as equals or betters. They will not be getting that treatment in the other Muslim countries.

  4. The whole immigration subject is a fake issue invented by Fox News, Trump and others. There has actually been a net outflow of several hundred thousand Mexicans since 2009. Our government is too incompetent to deport them. They deported themselves, because things are looking better in Mexico and worse here.

Here are a few real issues:
    1. Healthcare costs are approaching 20% of GDP, almost double that of any other nation.
    2. Businesses can’t hire full time workers because they can’t afford to pay for the healthcare.
    3. Without the illegals paying into the twin Ponzi schemes of Social Security and Medicare, these scams will go broke even quicker.
    4. Black crime has made most major inner cities virtually uninhabitable.
    5. Green cultists are making billions while forcing consumers and taxpayers to pay for inefficient energy.
    6. Well-intentioned, but moronic US foreign policy has made most of the Middle East as uninhabitable as US cities.
    7. Inner city public schools are good for little other than promoting perversion and serving as a venue for the distribution of illegal drugs.
    8. The leftists who run US colleges and the affirmative action admitees who attend them have gone completely insane. The few students trying to get worthwhile degrees have to run the gauntlet of perversion-promoting professors and screaming black lunatics.
    9. The income tax code has been returned to the complex, inefficient state of the Carter years.
    10. As in the housing market and healthcare, federal subsidies (via loans) have made the often worthless higher education completely overpriced.
    11. The family has been destroyed. There is an epidemic of illegitimate children and many others are being raised by perverts.

Once the Syrians discover items 1-11, many of them may return home. Others will (like the Iraqis before them) run convenience stores in war zones like Detroit. There are some jobs ordinary Americans will not do.

  5. Are there too many refugees in the mid-east to allow to emigrate to Western countries. Many of them will be killed or enslaved if they have to stay there. The millions can’t be moved. Therefore, what can be done?

The Christians need their own country. Sunnis need their own as do the Shia. Which country will protect them? The US? Russia? Syria? Iraq? Iran? Jordan? Saudi Arabia? Israel?

“Me! Me! Call on me! I know! I know!”

There is only one Mid-East country that the Christians could live in safely.
There is only one Mid-East country that might need more young people to join their army.

Israel. Think of the Last Days.
