😦 I wish I could give Donna and Jo some of this rain.
They would love it. A gentle steady rain.
thing is. It’s been going on every day for two weeks now.
And if follows another spell with a brief -two or three day – respite.
🙂 I found a company that prints custom photo post cards and photo magnets (and the post cards were 50% off) and I ordered some, and they look good. I’ve had a post card collection since I was nine, and I thought it would be fun if some of my own photos could be printed as post cards. (Now, if only there was a company that would print 50 post cards, but that let you choose up to ten images so that you could get an assortment in the 50 and not all the same image!)
😦 Kim and her household’s griefs. And those that some of the rest of you are facing.
🙂 My sister-in-law and her husband are due back from their week-and-a-half vacation anytime. So prayers were answered in that my father-in-law wasn’t admitted to the hospital at any point during our trip or theirs. (Since he’d been in the hospital a night or more five times in the previous six weeks or so, it wasn’t something we could take for granted!)
🙂 We have had very lovely weather this week, unseasonably warm (into the seventies).
😦 Autumnal weather is back.
🙂 This season at least gives me the chance to say “autumnal.” My husband likes it too.
🙂 Misten has some pep again, now that fall is here. Her puppy days are over, but if you saw her enjoying the outside, you wouldn’t guess she was 11 unless you noticed she now sleeps pretty soundly and can’t always hear her owners calling her for breakfast.
🙂 Finally fall. Seeing more dogs in sweaters. Cold at night and in the mornings, still warm in the day.
🙂 One city I drive through on the way home from work has its boulevard Christmas lights up already
🙂 😦 Lots of rain heading our way. Or so they keep telling us. Worried about my roof but roofers are all booked. My gardener/handyman said he’d check mine out for me when they came to trim all my gigantic trees, but they still haven’t set a date for that or given me an estimate.
😦 House stuff paralyzes me sometimes. I’ll worry about it tomorrow.
🙂 Snow in Wyoming/Idaho this week–five days after we escaped, er, came home. Nephew-in-law shot two elk over the weekend so both his family and that of his best friend (who died three weeks ago) will have meat this winter.
😦 Really struggling with how to start the biography I’m working on. Have written the first four chapters, but don’t like the first at all. Could use some prayer here.
🙂 Stargazer has an in-person interview (third with the company) on Wednesday; we’re optimistic.
🙂 Slated to head Donna’s way for Thanksgiving with my relatives (not her or the dogs). Had to add an extra hotel day so as to see the busy EMT.
😦 Once that got organized my husband revealed he had JURY DUTY that week. (Who does that?)
🙂 I don’t care.
🙂 EMT got to dash across town with lights and sirens to save a cardiac patient’s life the other day. She was very pumped up when she called to tell me the dramatic story.
🙂 Such an odd feeling; my child has now saved several people’s lives. Undoubtedly with more to come. Is that how the mom of a preacher man feels, too? 🙂
🙂 We couples Mardi Gras group we joined. It is a fun group of people. We are sharing our table with a friend of mine from high school and a friend of hers, so we are planning it all together.
🙂 I asked my husband if he minded stopping by Shoe Station. He said no, but asked didn’t I have enough shoes. What kind of question was that????? I got a pair of black Aerosole mules and some black tights. Mr. P got a Salt Life long sleeved T-shirt.
🙂 We went to Lowe’s. We got brighter light bulbs for the bathroom. We got two small rugs to go by the back doors.
🙂 Went to Wal-Mart where we got 4 small wreaths to go over the 4 windows on the front of the house and two more plants to go by the front door.
🙂 Niece called to see if BG could watch football tonight with her and her boyfriend. I am very thankful for the young woman she has become and that she loves her cousin enough to include her in her plans and show her there are other, better ways to hang out with friends. (That certainly wasn’t what I would have predicted when she was 6 years old and we took a picture of her with her new baby cousin)
🙂 Ex husband asked for a tour of the house last night then told me how happy he was that Mr P and I had this house.
🙂 That he dropped whatever he was doing last night and came when I called.
🙂 Emily took today off from school, & Lee finally finished training Mike on the route yesterday, which meant that that all five of us were home for a while this morning. (Chrissy had come in late last night, expecting to babysit today.)
Forrest was so happy to have all of us together, he was in his glory. He “made” us have a big family hug.
(R picked up Forrest for the day at around 10:30, & a little later, Lee took Chrissy back to the McK’s. But the family togetherness was nice while it lasted.)
🙂 An e-mail I got from Becky this morning.
We just got home from an evening in Raleigh with friends. I walked in to put Addison to bed to find her reading her Bible. So precious.
There was a picture, but I don’t know how to get it over here. It was sent from her iPhone.
