Last night at dinner my husband said, “Let’s see if I’ve got them all. You want to go to Hawai’i, Idaho, Washington D.C., the Baltic and now Dungeness Spit in Washington?”
Pretty much. I didn’t dare mention a weekend in Stinson Beach or the beach in Cancun.
We talked about it this morning. When I want to disappear like this, it means I’m under way too much stress and I want to run away.
At the moment, the real pressure is the talk–on prayer–on Saturday. It’s not coming together right and I don’t know why. Could you pray, please?
Consistent sleep would help, but it all may just be spiritual warfare as I go up to Ukiah–a community that has been in Satan’s grip for a very long time. Both Rick Warren and Jim Jones came from nearby Redwood Valley.
I know what to say, I know all the stories, it’s just not “feeling right.”
My prayer partner just laughs–“Maybe God hasn’t given you the story yet this week?”
Off to teach on heaven–another place that seems really lovely about now! 🙂
Son took it well. He is determined to keep trying and I did notice his grades have taken a slight edge up today. Being informed every day is odd, but it may help. We talked again this morning that he can remember what matters to him and it is time to have school matter.
Fourteen year old continues to struggle. He also refuses to turn in homework, according to a message from a teacher this morning. She and we know that he can, as he has for me before and he knows the answers in class. He just had a four day weekend to make significant strides and chose to do nothing.
Again, today, I put my trust fully in You. What a wonderful blessing that is to turn e erything over to You day by day and trust that whatever You do is best.
Thabk You for AJ and Cheryl getting to celebrate another year of marriage, a year of learning even more the depths of “in sickness and in health.” In the vows, sickness comes before health because the sickness part is so challenging. Thank You for the patience, compassion, and sacrificial love that develops during such times.
Thank You for working out the details for Kim and Mr. P to get their new home. Please keep Your guiding hand upon BG.
Please encourage Mumsee’s soon to be adult son to stay on track. Help him to focus on his goals and not get sidetracked by the distractions in his life. Help him to become an achiever and learn the value of extended effort.
Please bless Michelle with insight as to how she needs to address the subject of prayer. Show her, please, what will be most meaningful to this particular group so they gain greater understanding of the role prayer needs to play in their individual lives, in their communities, and in churches and ministries of which they are a part. Thank You for giving Michelle the ability to communicate for Your kingdom purposes on so many levels. May she receive blessings as she blesses others. Please give her refreshment when she feels the need to retreat.
I lift up my brother as he is being pressed by people in his employment to make things appear to be different than reality. Please help him to stand firm on the important and be willing to make a bit of personal sacrifice on the trivial things that don’t really matter in a moral sense. Help him to choose his battles wisely and always be a good witness as a Christian despite the feeling of being a virtual mental punching bag. I pray You will keep tormentors at bay and busy with other concerns that leave no time for nitpicking. Please, Abba, help my brother to retain employment if it is Your will. May the shenanigans cease.
Please continue to help Karen O and Lee with health and employment concerns. Bless little Forrest with good friends, patient teachers, and more chances to go to church and learn about Jesus.
I ask that You would give provision of water to CA through rain and through other sources perhaps unrevealed before.
Thank You for Your blessings today for all who frequent this blog. You are trustworthy and may You be glorified and thanked for whatever answers You decide upon based on our intercessions. In Jesus’ name, Amen
