Prayer Requests 9-5-15

Does anyone have a request or a praise they’d like to share?

Psalm 97

¹The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.

A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.

Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O Lord.

For thou, Lord, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

10 Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

12 Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

  1. Prayer here:
Sixteen year old appears to have received yet another concussion, this time in football last night. He thinks he is alright but to these mom eyes, he is not normal. Nothing to be done but rest his brain.
Fourteen year old was given his bed back and managed to drop it on his foot, possibly breaking a toe. Not much to do with that but rest his foot.

    Thanks.

  2. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for another chance to be in church on a Sunday worshipping You, praising in song, fellowshipping with believers and seekers, and being in general awe of Jesus and the Holy Spirit present among us. Thank You for the pastor who preaches directly from Your word which is always edifying and sometimes convicting. Thank You that You gave us Your word not to trip us up but to help us to rise up to Your standards for Your children’s lives.

Father God, my Abba, the needs of everyone I know are so great! Those who are more financially secure are sometimes spiritually poor for they have not learned to fully rely on You. I pray that they will step out of comfort zones and give more to Your needs in the word. Make known needs to touch their hearts and help them to learn generosity.

Lord, I pray for those in constant need of healing from various situations like surgery, emotional trama, disease, estranged family members, addictions, hurts from accidents and from birth defects, and from spiritual aches and longings to be more like Christ and make permanent changes and commitments.

Abba, I lift up lost loved ones that they may become thirsty and hungry for the nourishment only you can give. I pray any hearts not fully given over to You would surrender right away. Please save the lost. Help them to see the difference it makes to follow Jesus.

Lord, I lift up Religious Liberty because our nation was founded on that and it is corroding under the weight of political correctness and those who bait and tear down our sustaining past
foundations. I pray for and end to the attrosities of Planned Parenthood which is the equivalent of what terrorists do in beheadings and barbarism. Please open the eyes of lawmakers and help them return to building up rather than tearing down our nation. And please, may leadership make way to support our allies such as Israel instead of allowing the enemies of our nation acting as high authorities to tear down the ties that have bound us with Israel for years. You know the enemy, Lord, And I kn9w You will be victorious. Help us to watch and wait and be prepared to meet Jesus face to face and to go to judgement knowing we are counted as righteous by the covering of Jesus’ blood. Thank You for that wondrous plan of Yours. You are the only Living God!

I pray You are working out the details on each request brought up to You through this medium. Please help my husband get through the next few months of final deadlines for corporate, partnership, and personal taxes. It is so stressful for him. Please help my brother in his precarious employment situation. Please help my cousin in his marital difficulties. Also, I lift up my friend who continues having bad health issues. You know all these needs and more. Thank You again for opening the doors to Your throneroom, Your ears, and Your heart to consider my intercessory prayers. I always offer prayers in Jesus’ name to honor Him and as the only working key to You. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  3. I’ll ask for some encouragement on the job front for Stargazer, please. He’s got at least one lead with a company who interviewed him several months ago then went into a hiring freeze. I’ve been asking friends for leads but none have materialized into anything yet . . . . there’s so much networking that needs to go on, particularly at “such a high level,” according to a friend we gave me his company’s name yesterday.

  4. When I posted yesterday’s prayer, when I wrote the part about wealth and generosity, it was not directed to apply to anyone here. It was based on something I had earlier experienced at church that was still in my head while I prayed.

I do request prayer for myself that God would help me connect the dots on the picture of my life that He is making. I see areas in which He is most active and I want to become more involved there and then incorporate or consolidate other areas as He wishes and get rid of the unnecessary and distracting. Thank you for your prayers. Also, the Christian Library International Advance the Light Dinner is this week. Please pray for blessings, safety for those traveling, and successful outreach.
    Thank you.

  5. Heavenly Father,

I lift up the needs of Stargazer at this time. Please help him to find new avenues for encouragement. Help him to find ways to spend his time so he is able to display his skill set to just the right people who will think of people he needs to get to know. Help him 5o be willing to move, to seek additional training, to accept lower jobs as a starting point for climbing, to generally be in the right place at the right time to find Your best place for him. Please make those good blessings to flow quickly into his life. Help him to feel Your love as a constant despite the lack of current employment. I ask that You do not let him fall into despair. Help him to fully recognize his significance comes from being made in Your image and not from a job title and paycheck. Thank You for the many facets of his life in which You are bringing blesdings. We wait to hear good news. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  6. Stargazer’s PhD is in astronomy, but he feels he has “conquered” that field and wants to make some money. (One position was open at his school; 200 people applied for it, but they had earmarked it for a woman. 11 women applied. My son is not a woman. That’s what’s going on in academia these days).

Anyway, he is transitioning over to “big data” analytics–which is what Google, AMazon, Microsoft, and others use to follow your information trail and decide what you might like to buy next. Lots of companies take extraordinary amounts of data (like stars in the sky) and extrapolate them down (like to your particular sun) to look at patterns and determine actions.

If I’m correct (debatable), that’s the type of analytics he proposes to do with his degree.

I’m biting my tongue to NOT suggest my Eagle scout apply for an interim job selling hiking equipment at the local outdoor store . . . at least for the Christmas season.

We have two more friends in Silicon Valley I can tap . . . I’ve asked my husband to do that job since they were both his college roommates . . .

  7. Michelle – Could your husband suggest the interim job to Stargazer? It is a good idea to do something to make some money until the “something better” comes along.
