  1. I think I have this thing figured out. This morning the Gang of Commies on Morning Joe was starting to praise Trump for his moderation.

Trump is this year’s Romney or Little Bush: He is the liberal Yankee the left wants Republicans to nominate. They just have him wearing a weird disguise.

  2. RW: It isn’t just the Left – there are an awful lot on the Right who want Trump to be the nominee. In their disgust for establishment politicians and politics as usual, they have shifted their support to the wrong candidate.

” … So, if Kim Davis isn’t a hill to die on, what is? It’s a fair question. Broadly speaking, my answer is this: when they start trying to tell us how to run our own religious institutions — churches, schools, hospitals, and the like — and trying to close them or otherwise destroy them for refusing to accept LGBT ideology. This is a bright red line — and it’s a fight in which we might yet win meaningful victories, given the strong precedents in constitutional jurisprudence. …”

  4. kbells: In response, while it’s true that Trump can bankroll his own campaign, he has actually been offered an awful lot of money from private donors that he has turned down. Another candidate who can articulate the right vision should theoretically be able to raise that kind of interest and money from supporters.

  5. So where do you thing the other candidates are getting their money? And can somebody define establishment politicians and politics as usual. I saw nothing usual about how Walker stood up to the unions.

  6. Donna J, Thanks for posting Dreher’s piece. Sadly, in many parts of the country we are at the hill he said he should die on. Gordon College is the perfect example. It is located in the shadow of Sodom East (Boston). After Gordon’s President took an orthodox Christian position on marriage, Organized Perversion went to war. Perverted Catholic schools refused to play sports against Gordon. Deviants raised a challenge to the school’s accreditation. Suburbs of Sodom East refused to let Gordon students serve as student teachers in their schools lest the indoctrination of the students by Organized Perversion be interrupted.

I respect the act of the County Clerk for States Rights reasons. The real mistake in Roe v Wade is that it imposed the federal right to kill babies on conservative states. The new perverted marriage decision imposes perversion on conservative states like Kentucky. The people need to rise up and defend brave officials who defy such federal orders. If blacks are allowed to riot and loot every time a policeman does his job and shoots a criminal committing assault, then Christians should be able to defend elected officials defending the laws of their state.

“In 2013, more than 200,000 people on net fled states with Democrat governors for ones run by Republicans, according to an analysis of newly released IRS data by Americans for Tax Reform. ”

“That year, Democrat-run states lost a net 226,763 taxpayers, bringing with them nearly $15.7 billion in adjusted gross income (AGI). That same year, states with Republican governors gained nearly 220,000 new taxpayers, who brought more than $14.1 billion in AGI with them.

Only one-third of states with Democrat governors gained taxpayers, compared to three-fifths of states with Republican governors.

Top 5 loser states for Democrat governors in 2013:

    · New York (114,929 people with $5.7 billion in AGI)

    · Illinois (68,943 people with $3.8 billion in AGI)

    · California (47,458 people with 3.8 billion in AGI)

    · Connecticut (14,453 people with $1.8 billion in AGI)

    · Massachusetts (11,915 people with $1 billion in AGI)”

19,000 of those New Yorkers appear to have been retirees relocating to Florida. The other 95,000 went elsewhere.

  8. …or protest the prayers before football games, or object to Christian speakers at our schools or be a pain to our Southern teachers who have to deal with their kids.

  9. California has been losing people since 2006 that I know of. I used to deal with a real estate agent in San Diego. She kept track of how many U-Haul type vehicles were rented for one way trips.
The bad thing is that yes they will come to the South and not realize that they are ruining what they came here for with their liberal votes. We need some of you conservatives to move here too to balance things out.
