I need strength and patience to get through the rest of this month and next. I want to get closed on the house, moved, settled, and figure out what is next.
One of the things we do when going through a difficult time is ask, “Lord, what do You want me to learn from this?”
Once Lee got to the point of asking that, in his current situation with the route, God answered him, & started him on a new path of greater faith & trust. What God has done in my husband has been truly wonderful.
(BTW, the answer Lee got was about his attitude. He then started listening more closely to the urgings & convictions of the Holy Spirit, & his attitude toward many things has changed dramatically.)
I came here to tell you that BG is up to her old tricks. She was late for school yesterday, so she and her friends decided to go to breakfast and that turned out so well they decided to skip the rest of the day. She sent me a text yesterday morning telling me she got caught in traffic and was tardy so that when I got the call from the school I would already know and not question it, but I am no stranger to her so I called the school this morning and found out that she never signed in and none of her teachers had seen her. I am numb. I am so disappointed I don’t know what I am going to do.
Anyway that was disrupted by a telephone call from a woman calling about a piece of property we have for lease. She wants to start a charity. Well when you hear that you think yeah right. I asked her more about it as I was trying to find the lease rates and everything else. I asked if it would be retail or what….She wants to start a Pro Life Pregnancy Counceling Center. Hmmmm. I may know some people who know somehting about that. I got her name and number and told her I did want to help her and would see what else we could find for her
Her father bought the car after he sold his house. I didn’t take a commission on it because I would have had to pay taxes and he wouldn’t. He will back me up if I take it away. He has already turned off the data on her phone. She can call and text. Two weeks is the minimum restriction at this point. The problem is that I work and the only responsible adult to ride herd on her right now is the Evil Stepfather who she has only recently started speaking to.
Guy is going out of town for the next 3 days so I may make the decision to work from home in the afternoons this week.
Two weeks restriction. Next time will be four weeks. I asked her why she didn’t come clean this morning when I TOLD her I was going to call the school. She didn’t think I would do it!!!!
I did cross a line today that I had promised I would never say to her. I have had the fear before and I know that I have enough of my father in me to shred her to pieces and leave her bleeding with the words I could use. I told her my deepest fear had come true. She was just like my alcoholic mother. She was determined to do whatever it was she wanted to do no matter who got hurt in the process and that she (BG ) was just like her. She didn’t have a good life because she was a selfish alcoholic and the only reason I went to her funeral was so that one day I wouldn’t regret not going. I didn’t go into further detail of the things that my mother did, but I did tell her that worse than parents who stayed on top of you were parents who just didn’t care. I let her know that I got away with Oh so much more than she could ever home to because my mother was passed out in the bed and that Papa thought it would be a great idea to work 16 and 18 hour days rather than come home and deal with her. HER (BG’s) parents at least wanted to deal with her.
I don’t know that I accomplished much. It is very rare that I lose my temper and tell it like it is. Mr. P stepped in and calmly talked to her and told her the consequences of her actions. Bull Headed Snot Nosed Brat!
Kim, you can always go back to her and tell her you are sorry that you told her she’s just like your alcoholic mother–that in truth you fear for her and don’t want to see her going down that sort of route in the future, but no, you do not really think she is that way deep down. Or whatever.

Please pray for my daughter. Her minivan is in the shop even after spending almost $400 on parts. She is starting her new job.

Kim, sorry about BG. It is, of course, her own phone and her own car, and so her mom can’t take either one away?

Kim, she will learn more from your apology than anything else you could have said.
