Prayer Requests 8-5-15

Today’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 63

¹O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.

11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

  1. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the beautiful start to this new dsy with pink colored clouds mingled with blue sky. You dress up our days with the colors of Your choosing.

I llift up Cheryl, AJ’s wife, for continued healing and full recovery. Please take away any pains that bring misery. Help her to be strong in difficulties unlike what she has known before. Continue blessing AJ and Liz as they try to help Cheryl through these difficult days of recovery. Pleae bring special blessings into their lives so they feel Your presence in a big way.

Lord, I continue to lift up Annms as You bring her to mind throughout my week. You know her needs. You know how big our problems can seem if we take our eyes off of you for a moment. Please help her to keep focused on Jesus and have her problems wither for nothing compares in magnitude to You and Jesus.

Please, Father God, keep those young ladies safe as they travel in Canada and northern parts of the USA. Thank You for making their trip possible. I pray they are making many special memories. May they remember to send postcards or share photos with their folks back home. I pray they will see with Your vision and feel with Your heart.

I pray for Joanne with all she remains busy with these days. May her health continually be improving. Please bless the people of The Gambia with Your love so they understand that You want all people to know and be saved through Jesus.

Lord, I lift up my son to receive the blessing of completing his lengthy paper for his class with needed time to thoroughly review and edit. Please give him stamina and good health for long grueling hours at the computer.

Please bless Karen O’s husband with a second wind to meet the challenges of his life in Your strength. Show him, step by step, that You are making a way for him. Raise him from feelings of defeat and despair. Help him in partnership with You to be an overcomer of really tough circumstances that seem insurmountable. Please keep Karen O as a strong support for her husband. May the girls step up their help, and may Forrest do his part by being a simple joy for Lee, one of those perfect gifts from You, God.

Please bless others on the blog while traveling or dealing with any special challenges this day brings. You hold each of us in Your hands.

In Jesus’ blessed name I pray, Amen

  2. Thank you Janice.

Here’s a more specific request. Besides the physical needs we are facing an uncertain financial one as well. We are supposed to know today whether workers comp is going to “accept” the claim. If not, the company has a short term disability plan that may. Again, it’s unknown if they will. If not our only recourse is to bring a lawyer into it, and then he gets a cut too, which means less money. We have some funds in reserve, but not more than a few months. And we’re still awaiting a decision on my disability claim. The unknown is weighing on us.

    Thanks.
