Prayer Requests 7-18-15

Anyone have a request or a praise they’d like to share?

Psalm 45

¹My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

Kings’ daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house;

11 So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

12 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

13 The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace.

16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

  1. We seem to be settling in to our new routines and lifestyle with BG home. She is being as reasonable as a 17 year old girl can be. Last night she worked until 8, I sent her a text to pick up fabric softener. She did. Didn’t complain or as me for money, came on home and made something to eat. She didn’t ask to stay out past curfew or anything like that. She is finished with Summer School.
Things aren’t perfect, but they seldom are. She and Mr P are still working on their relationship. He is being great. She needs to bend a little more and be friendlier.
Yesterday morning I was speaking with my ex-MIL who asked how the relationship with Mr P was going. She said that she had been praying that it would work out, and said again that BG needed to be with me and how glad she was that things were going well. She knows her son, so I laughed and told her that she knew the men in my life. My dad was a highly strung type A+++++ and Ex Husband is very much type A, OCD, and just plain rigid in his schedule, beliefs, and life in general. I work for Guy who is over the top, you’ve heard stories of him for years so you know. I told MIL that I had once told Mr. P that I had heard about men like him but thought they were something like a unicorn. They didn’t really exist. Wednesday I got paid. I came home and told Mr P that BG and I were going shopping and I planned to spend X amount. His reply was OK, have fun. There were no lectures about how broke we were and how we couldn’t afford it right now. It would have to wait. Just OK. Have fun. Ex MIL laughed at that. She knows her son.

So this was a praise not a prayer request although we will still take prayers as we go forward.

  2. Pray for my neighbor S who is going to try a new stem cell injection treatment in lieu of knee replacement surgery. She was scheduled for the surgery this coming Monday but when I talked to her a couple weeks ago she was really conflicted and was searching for any kind of alternative. Then, when I talked to her again the other day, she told me she’d cancelled the surgery and is going to try this other treatment and hope for the best.

Problem is, it’s still very new, results appear to be all over the map (and even with the most improvement it won’t be as complete as a knee replacement). But she hates surgery and has had a tough couple years losing family members — she said she just couldn’t psychologically face major surgery and the long recovery right now.

  3. Please pray for L, a friend of my daughter’s. She was going to be married in a couple weeks, but broke up with her fiancee recently (sounded like a mutual decision). Not long after that, while her fiancee was home alone, he had an apparent heart attack, and was found dead the next day by a co-worker after he failed to show up for work. L is blaming herself for his death. 😦

  4. Pray for my parents and myself. As I wrote on R&R, my father has a serious form of pneumonia. My mother will hear the prognosis and type of surgery that needs to be done on her kidney this week (she postponed the appointment with the surgeon last week because of my father’s surgery). With all the stress and the hot humid weather (with attendant smog), I am concerned that my asthma may flare up again, which is the last thing we need. Since both parents are suffering health problems, I am the one that needs to accompany them to appointments, etc.
