Excellent piece that speaks my mind about what bothered me so much about the “rainbow” White House images; from the respected Roman Catholic journal First Things:
The White House should not ever be used as an icon or celebration for any particular political or even social cause or purpose, regardless of our personal belief on the rightness of that cause. It just shouldn’t.
There are many reasons.
First there’s whose house it is. It’s the people’s House which we happily and proudly present to every President to conduct his solemn business of leading our nation and for the protection, enjoyment, and relaxation of his family. It is not one person’s, administration’s, or particular group’s house to proclaim his or their particular views on any topic of social or public policy. …

Texas and much of the South really are different from the rest of the country. I am Facebook friends with about 100 members of our Independent Baptist Church in an exurb of Fort Worth, including most of the youth and 20-somethings. None of our members who are my FB friends have posted rainbow flags or any pro-homosexual posts. I am not naive enough to think our people are great Biblical scholars. However, they believe the Bible, and our local culture still supports and affirms that faith in the Bible. I worry about when the plague will reach us.

Not yet Kim, A law would have to be passed to remove tax exemptions for nonprofits.
No congressman nor Senator has the nerve to sponsor such a thing.
