  1. 😦 We all know the biggest rant. Those who call good evil and evil good.

😦 Drama queens who want to accuse others of hatred, bigotry and other nasty things in public forums.

😦 My poppy died. I have been trying to replace it, but always seem late to get one.

🙂 All the beautiful flowers at this time of year. No one can appreciate green foliage and beautiful flowers like a person who has way too much winter.

🙂 God is merciful, just, kind and loving. He is the same forever.

  2. 🙂 My Baby Girl came home!!!! That trumps just about everything.

😦 That she and her father aren’t getting along

😦 The two crotchety old women who live next door and across the street have complained to Mr. P that they can’t back their cars out because she is parked in the street.

😦 Because of the complaints we have to rearrange the garage today and may have to rent a storage unit.

😉 You do realize that it is June 27th in Lower Alabama which is sometime referred to as the hottest, most humid place on earth???? I guess I can look at the bright side–It will be like being in a steam room so I should consider it “healthy” as I work and sweat..

Oh, did I mention my Baby Girl came home????

  3. That explains why Southern women, like British women, have beautiful skin–all that moisture in the air!

Meanwhile out here on the west coast, we’re dried up, dedicated and wrinkled from all this dry air–all except Donna who lives by the beach. 🙂

5 days in a rented house on a lake. I can hear the sweet bird calls from a nearby sanctuary. The Adorable sound of pounding feet has not yet awakened!

    Fun seeing Ann.

Avoiding FB is a good thing this weekend!

  4. 😦 Two bad decisions by SCOTUS.

🙂 At least John Roberts got it right in the homosexual marriage decision.

  5. I can’t stand all this rage and hatred for the LGBTabcxyz123 community here on this hateful hating blog of Christian haters!

I would wish you all would Burn in Hell! except then I would be acknowledging that there is a God, so, I hope the IRS audits you! So there, suckahs.

  6. 🙂 Knowing God

🙂 A rare day off to take care of more personal business on Friday

😦 The ramifications of yesterday’s court decision. Could (no doubt will) be trying times ahead for people of faith and our nation

🙂 Some unexpected comments this week from (1) a FB acquaintance from our local community, non-Christian, whom I don’t personally know, who thanked me in a private message for my “compassionate” posts and (2) a thank-you from my veterinarian for my Christian posts (I’ve put him on the narrower friends list that gets those posts)

😦 But as for the rest of FB this weekend … Well, me thinks it’s time for a break. One can only look at so many flashing rainbows before the eyes roll & glaze over. 🙂

🙂 God is sovereign — may He use His people during this time in a way that will reach others for the gospel. And may the people our nation awaken from their slumber enough to take note of the conflicts that are already arising with regard to the free exercise of religion and speech. May God give us good leadership with the coming elections. And if hard times continue, may the church rise to the call and live faithfully.

  7. 😦 😦 Waiting for son to take me to the airport which was only 10 minutes away. I like to be there early. he was very late and then brought the kids and the line was so long. At least he offered to go get me something to eat while I waited in line, but he is just one who always waits until the last minute.

:0 🙂 Got the last seat on the plane!! Had time to get more water, etc.
As I walked down the aisle, someone said hello. I had to really stare to see who it was as they were wearing baseball cap and sunglasses. An old friend and a supporter with his wife. I had been trying to call and get together with them. Then there was a free seat right behind them. We deplaned together and visited around the luggage carousel. Such a blessing to see them and they were leaving on another trip this week, so this was my only chance They stayed in our home for a month or so in 1976.

    God is good 🙂

On the way home I purchased a Travel pro wheeled carry on and found it exactly fits my sewing machine!!! and it is purple! Half off at Macy’s and cheaper than either of the ones that I had ordered online. Then the gal used a coupon and gave me another 15% off.
🙂 🙂 Yes, now no more worries about that.
Even stopped at REI and got a candle lantern for my classroom aide.

  8. 🙂 Hubs cooked up some sort of sausage with onions and I heated a can of asparagus with some lemon juice and lemon pepper added. I put dijon mustard on my sausage. Yummy. It was a great dinner.

🙂 BG is at work and I have given her permission to spend the night with a friend.

🙂 This afternoon I am happy. My Baby Girl is home. Her Nana thinks she really needs to be with me and Amos is as snuggled up to me as close as he can get and Lulabelle is still being a good dog. Mr P doesn’t think he got at full $500 worth of training but I am happy because she obeys me.

  9. 😦 News that makes us weep.

🙂 Half of my siblings called me for my birthday so far (and one more called the other line of a brother who was talking to me, and when reminded by my brother that it was my birthday, told him “Tell her happy birthday for me”); the other two aren’t good at dates and likely won’t call. My in-laws also called (two phone calls from his side of the family).

😦 We’re stranded from the outside world by flood waters, and our girls are stranded in two other places. (One daughter succeeded in leaving the house earlier, but last we heard she was looking for a friend to spend the night with, since the water has gone up higher since she left.)

🙂 My husband and I may be stranded, but we’re stranded together, and that makes it a whole different situation.

🙂 We had a beautiful time seeing the butterflies yesterday–and it’s a really good thing we planned to go out yesterday, since we couldn’t go anywhere today.

😦 It seems unlikely at this point that we’ll be able to get to church tomorrow, but there are some good reasons we need to be there if at all possible. But sometimes situations really are out of our control.

    🙂 I have such a good husband.

🙂 God’s in His heaven, still in control, and still the lover of our souls.

  10. 😦 The paperwork that was signed by Lee & Ralph (the man who is buying Lee’s route) & sent elsewhere for approval, was sent back. The problem? They signed in blue ink rather than black ink. Lee was disappointed by the delay, but…

🙂 …we decided we just had to shake our heads & laugh about it.

The paperwork is now properly signed in black ink & sent back in.

    🙂 Daughter is here

🙂 A relaxing day which started with a long walk

    🙂 Friends stopping by tomorrow

🙂 😦 Husband’s gallbladder surgery on Monday. Praying this will help with a lot of his health issues

  12. In whose world does everything need black ink? I could understand if red or purple was used, but blue? Sheesh. What a waste of time and effort. It will be nice when it is all behind you, Karen, although I know you will still have other issues.

  13. Chas is correct—it’s their policy although now most legal documents are requiring blue ink because copiers are so good that is the only way you can tell it’s an original “wet” signature.
Perhaps their copiers are good enough to pick up the blue ink so they have to have black.

  14. I have dealt with bureaucracy for many years.
    Policy is policy.
    It’s best to follow it.
You can try to change it,
You can ignore it if you think you can get away with it.
But “it’s policy” is always the final word. You can’t argue it.

  15. Supposedly, blue ink will not copy well after several copies, so they prefer black ink. Why they don’t just make those several copies from the original, I don’t know. Maybe the copies travel to other offices to be re-copied. At least it’s keeping some people employed. 🙂

  16. 😦 It’s hot. And humid, which we are not used to. Fans going in the house where it’s already 78 degrees (at just after 1 p.m.).

😦 A fly is buzzing in the house and the dogs are trying to catch it. I hear jaws snapping every now and again, but Mr. Fly still flies. 😦

😦 Still not used to going to church at 3 p.m., but sleeping in will quickly become a (bad) habit on Sundays for me, so going back to morning services come September will be tough.

🙂 Dogs are clean and soft and fluffly, all groomed and de-shedded, looking & smelling sweet.

🙂 Another loud SNAP and crash, sounds like Tess ran into the metal dog food bin in pursuit of the fly.

  17. Donna – Maybe you should try to get up on Sunday mornings close to when you would normally get up for church, so it won’t be such a tough adjustment in September. Of course, that would mean warring against the strong temptation to sleep in. 😦

Out here in Connecticut, it is very humid BUT the temperature is only in the 60s, as we have an overcast & chilly “fall” day. I love it! 🙂

  18. Here, where we always have a breeze and it usually cools down at night, we are having a heat wave as well. On the deck, my thermometer in the shade is measuring just over one hundred twenty. In the house it is eighty three in the living area. We brought out some fans. The temp is supposed to be a drop to a high of twelve degrees below whatever today is.

  19. 🙂 I love fall!

Karen, you’re right — what I’ve noticed is that I’m staying up, oh, just a tad later Saturday nights (i am by nature a night owl), thinking, well, I don’t have to get up Sunday at any particular time …

And this is after only 2 weeks!
