Prayer Requests 6-16-15

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 18:1-21

¹I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

10 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

12 At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

13 The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

14 Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

18 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.

19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

20 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

  1. BG seems to be having stomach issues. She has lost weight and says that she feels hungry but when she thinks about eating it makes her sick. Mr P and I talked about it last night. She may need to come home to me for a little while at least. I talked to ex Mother In Law yesterday. She says ex husband is part of the problem. He is very OCD and could give Ebenezer Scrooge a run for his money. He complained about spending $60 at the grocery store Sunday and there was no bread nor milk in the house!!!! She and I agreed you can’t walk in a grocery store and turn around and walk out without spending $60/ How well I remember what it was like to live with that. I told MIL that he is still giving me fits about money. That he acts like the child support money that I turn around and give him every month is the difference between him having a roof over his head and living on the street in a cardboard box. They are living with his mother!!!! She assured me that as long as BG was around or needed it she wouldn’t ask him to leave, but that if it were just her son she wouldn’t put up with him. I remember that I stayed married to him as long as I did because she IS still the world’s best mother in law.
I just need the wisdom to know what to do and the strength to do it. Thanks for listening.

  2. Kim, the girl you know best from here went through a time like that. About sixteen. She said she wanted to eat but everything made her sick. She lost weight. We talked. We waited. She turned it around. I will be praying with you.

  3. Remember, your daughter was not willing to work with you at all. She went to dad’s house in an attempt to manipulate him. It is possible she is mad because he has learned something. It is possible she needs to be coming back and has learned her lesson. If she does come back, you need to make her act her age and not like a little helpless baby. In a few months, she could be out on her own. Help her get there safely and competently. Much fun as it is to have her adore you, that is not the goal. Again, praying with you in this challenging time.

  4. Update from yesterday’s prayer request: Lee is postponing the full body bone scan he was supposed to have today, & also postponing the Lupron shot (that costs almost ten grand) he is scheduled to have next Wednesday.

Last night, praying while lying in bed, I surrendered once again, & in a deeper way, everything I have & everything I want, my desires for my girls (except for their salvation), my home, my life, & even my beloved husband’s life. May He take it all, & do with it all what He wants.

Still awake past midnight, I heard Lee weeping as he prayed. God have mercy on him, please.

  5. A timely quote I read this morning, from a book about Brother Lawrence. (Since they rhyme in English, & he was French, I doubt they are his exact words, but convey what he taught):

    “Good when He gives, supremely good;
    Nor less when He denies:
    Afflictions, from His sovereign hand,
    Are blessings in disguise.”

  6. It is heartbreaking to see your husband weep. The first time I saw that was a few weeks ago when he realized his mother is dying. My prayers are with you Karen.

  7. Our friend, Kim, came to stay with her daughter, but ended up with infection. She was brought back to the hospital and had to have everything cleaned out and redone. She was suppose to have a nurse come by and have it repacked, but no one showed. She has a fever and is feeling terrible. They were finally told to just bring her to the emergency room. They were trying to get her into a short term facility for help with recovery, but that does not seem to be happening. Please pray for wisdom, healing and the best place for recovery.

  8. Well, there was some good news today, for a change. Lee learned that his route will keep the West Hartford schools. So he won’t have to lower his price, & Ralph gets the income from them when he gets the route.

The lady in charge of ordering for the schools was disappointed to hear that Lee is selling the route, because she liked his good customer service. 🙂
