Prayer Requests 6-15-15

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 17

¹Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.

Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

10 They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.

11 They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;

12 Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

13 Arise, O Lord, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:

14 From men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

  1. My husband had two very disappointing pieces of news today.

First, he found out that the paperwork for Ralph to buy his route (I did tell you that he will probably be okayed to buy it after all, didn’t I?), which Lee was told was being put in last week, has in fact not been submitted yet.

Then, as he got home from work, he opened up a piece of mail which told him that we’ve been turned down for financial assistance for our medical bills (over $11,000 right now). Our next step is to submit them to Christian Healthcare Ministries. Please pray they will be accepted for payment (a good chunk of them, at the very least).

He has an appointment on Wednesday (made a couple months ago) to have a full body scan, looking for areas the metastatic prostate cancer might be growing. But considering how expensive that will be, I suspect he is going to cancel that appointment.

My heart aches for my poor husband, who is so weary, physically & mentally. Please pray for him. (Prayers for complete healing welcomed, too.)

  2. My heart goes out to you, too, Karen. Hard times, indeed.

My SIL still needs a job. He just had a former employer offer one at a ridiculous salary. This man has really cheated my SIL before and cannot be trusted. We are praying for something more appropriate. His family will need benefits by August for sure.

My first day of VBS went quite well. I have six third grade boys. That is half the expected number for this half of the third grade class. Nevertheless, I was happy with half. 🙂 They kept we two grandmothers hopping. 🙂
