Prayer Requests 6-11-15

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for the folks in PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 14

¹The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.

There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.

Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge.

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

  1. Our friends asked for wisdom of where to get the chemo and health care their daughter needs for her cancer. They will be talking to her doctor today, but that doctor will be home on leave all summer. She is having a baby, which (for some reason!) takes priority. 😉 One of the possibilities is more than four hours away. It is not the ones who will be driving who want to do that. Everyone wants the best possible, but who knows what that is? God does, of course. 🙂 Prayers for Kim and her family to make the best decision and find peace in it would be appreciated.

  2. Primary campus in Ukarumpa is looking for folks to teach 5th and 6th grade math, Bible, and science for the next school year. They are hoping that someone in Ukarumpa will volunteer to teach and they have broken it down into at least three separate positions. School begins on July 23rd.

  3. Yet another ambulance call. The very resistant to authority thirteen year old has been allowed to walk to town to seek employment for paying rent while refusing to do schoolwork. No school, pay rent plan. Anyway, he has been sweeping and mowing and cleaning and stocking, mostly as a volunteer. Today, for unknown reasons, an adult chose to put him on the highway driving an ATV, which he has never driven before. With no helmet and no license and no anything. Anyway, he was going forty mph when he wiped out and slid over a hundred feet. He is fine but he is going to have some aches and pains for a while. No sign of a concussion but he did hit his head. The ambulance folk sent him home with us.

Prayer that no further injuries come to fore but the known injuries serve as a wake up call. Probably, the employee having him drive will be losing his job. We know son will not be going to town for work the rest of the summer, no rent payment. But he is okay so that is a praise. There will be citations as it is a state highway so the deputies had no choice.

  4. We could use prayers here for 18-year-old daughter and me. She needs guidance in various areas, which I won’t mention, and I need wisdom in providing that guidance. Her older two siblings did not face some of the issues she is dealing with, and I am feeling a distinct lack of confidence in my ability to guide her or find the right resources (whether material or human) to assist in that.

Despite my uncertainty in how to proceed, I am very convicted at this time that I need to set aside the bulk of my online activities. I spend up to one hour a week in piano-teaching-related business, and that will continue, as will checking email. (I don’t get a whole lot of that — maybe averaging about 7 or 8 a day, and processing time isn’t real long.)

Blog reading and commenting, though (this isn’t the only blog where I am active), is my biggest expenditure of time spent at the computer, and that is something I know with all my heart I need to set aside for this season of transition with my daughter.

I appreciate your prayers, and you can count on my prayers on your behalf, as well.

Thank you, all, so much, for praying.
