Prayers needed! Our older daughter, L., transferred to public school in January. She has been accused of cheating on an English test. The scandal involves about 80 kids, all of whom are college-bound, pre-AP students. Basically, a girl sent out a text to about twenty kids, the day of the test, which consisted of photos of the test, complete with answers. Many of the original twenty forwarded the text. L. neither solicited text nor used it, deleting it as soon as she opened it and realized what it was. School is giving her a zero on test, a U in conduct for six weeks and one day of in school suspension. We are protesting as we believe she’s innocent. We’ve already had a meeting with 9th grade girls assistant principal, which was maddening. They have no hard evidence she cheated; it’s all a he said/she said situation. Today, at two o’clock, we have a meeting with the next beauracrat up the food chain, the associate principal for 9th grade. Please pray!!!
I am so sorry this is happening to your family Ann…definitely praying and thinking on what my Daddy used to tell us when we faced those battles in school….”that which doesn’t kill you will make you stronger”! He taught his girls determination to stand for what is right ❤
Ligonier Ministries: After further consult with the doctors, Dr. Sproul preferred to pursue a non-invasive path that would stabilize his newly diagnosed diabetic condition. The risk/reward ratio for the surgical procedure was not acceptable. He is resting but did express his gratitude for all who are praying for wisdom and healing.

Good news: Dr. Sproul is home from the hospital. As many of you know, he suffered a stroke, which required an extended hospital stay. We give thanks to God that there has been no paralysis and he remains his same jovial self. But there are some remaining effects of the stroke that affect his speech and strength. Further, he’s been diagnosed with a diabetic condition that will be addressed through diet and regular medical attention. He is fatigued and in coming days will be concentrating on regaining his strength as well as his speech therapy. Again, Dr. Sproul expresses his thanks for all of the prayers that have been lifted up on his behalf to our merciful, sovereign, and faithful heavenly Father.
Mumsee, I know two kids who spent time behind bars (one in juvie, one not for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. That’s assuming their stories are true, but as far as we knew they were. One of them, his friend wanted to go into the store and get something, and he didn’t go in with him. It turns out that the friend stole some stuff while he was in there, so this young man was arrested for driving the getaway car. Maybe he’s telling the truth and maybe he’s not–but it obviously is the kind of thing that actually can happen, and there was reason to believe that it happened this time.
The other time, a bunch of kids turned on one of them and started beating him up, and this kid was there and was one of the ones rounded up, though he didn’t do anything. I believe that story (and so did the person who told me), because this is a gentle, mature young man, and it truly doesn’t sound like something he would have been involved in.
Especially for boys of color (as both these boys were), it behooves them to be extra cautious and more aware of what their associates are doing, because so much can go wrong so quickly, and the law really doesn’t give the benefit of the doubt to a young black man hanging out with friends who are in gangs, on probation, etc. (as a pretty good percentage are). Keeping your own nose clean isn’t enough, if you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Praying with you. That is why I tell my children guilt by association is a real thing and we apply it because it will be applied.
