Thank You!

Everyone,

Since I’m horrible with things like writing Thank You notes in a timely manner, I thought I’d do it here. Plus this way, I won’t forget anyone. 🙂

I just wanted to take the time to thank you all for everything you have done for us since my Mom’s passing. It’s been a blessing to have folks such as each of you being a part of it. You have helped us more than you know. Your prayers, cards, and condolences through the blog and other means helped ease our burden, and we’re thankful for them. It was very touching.

It also reminded me what a blessing you all are in my life. Though we’re all over the US and Canada, and even world-wide at times, I can talk to you all anytime, and about nearly anything. Even though we’re separated by distance, the friendship and closeness of this blog amazes me. It’s a joy and a pleasure to know you all.

Thank you,

Allen, Cheryl, and Elizabeth

————————————-

Now the above was great, and such a blessing. But then you folks went above and beyond. 🙂

I’m not sure who all was involved at this point, but I know Kim was. 🙂

So thank you Ma’am, and thank you to her as yet unnamed co-conspirators as well. In the interest of accountability, I’d like to share some of the details with you all. 🙂

A collection was taken and some ideas were shared. Then a beautiful plant was delivered to us. I’d never had a peace lily before, but I must say I love it. Thank you all for that. 🙂

I’m also pleased to report that the lovely peace lily is thriving in the back room. That’s the one that gets the least sun, which from what I’ve read, is how you get them to thrive and flower. 🙂

Anyway, it turns out that due to the generosity of you folks, there was some money left over after the plant purchase. Kim and Linda coordinated a suggestion to take some of those remaining funds and send us to one of our favorite places for a meal. So now we have to plan a trip to Shady Maple. We’re hoping Linda and her husband, and anyone else in the area that would like too, will join us. We’ll figure out a date in the near future.

But that’s not all.  Due to your kindness and generosity, there was still some money left over. Our family had requested anyone wishing to could make a donation to the ACS. But after discussing this, Kim and I have decided on another suggestion someone made. I mentioned what was being done to my father yesterday as well, and he approves. 🙂 So the remaining money has been sent to The Nest to aid Mumsee and Mike with their work. My mother loved kids, she had 6, and she would be honored to know this donation to their work with kids who desperately need it was made in her name.

And that’s still not all. Yesterday, some additional funds were received. So Kim will be passing them along as well. This time, to Jo, to aid in her work in PNG. 🙂

Should any additional funds be received, they will be disbursed amongst missionaries as well.

Again, thank you all so much for your love, kindness, and generosity. Not only has it been a blessing to us, as you can see it will bless others as well, and aid them in their work for our Lord. 🙂

Sincerely,

Allen

  1. And I second that thank you. When the card and check arrived yesterday, I cried and husband smiled. He has not been smiling a lot lately, but he was quite touched that you folks thought of us. Thanks!

  2. Wow, this is amazing. Thank you so much. This month is very tight as I am paying for all my medical bills and also had to send funds to PNG to pay the monthly fees on my home. An answer to prayer! and a blessing.

  3. It is always a blessing when I see Christians acting like Christians by loving one another. Jesus said people would know we are Christians by that love, and instances like this show us how we love one another.

  4. 1 Timothy 5:8King James Version (KJV)

8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

I tithe and my church supports various missions in Africa and Haiti, New Orleans, Mobile, etc. These missionaries here are ‘our own” and this blog is “our home”.
