Prayer Requests 4-4-15

Anyone have something to share?

John 19:31-42

31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.

33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

38 And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

42 There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

  1. My youngest sibling and I were able to play together for most of the Good Friday service. However, she had to leave during the sermon, as she was not feeling. I played the last hymn and postlude by myself. We were going to her house for a family dinner, so we ended up spending the day helping her husband cook the meal and taking care of the kids while she rested in bed. She was feeling a little better by the end of the day, but looked pale and a bit feverish. I’m concerned for her – she is one of those very healthy, strong people who when they get sick, are sick with a vengeance. Also, I mentioned before that my generation doesn’t trust the establishment – youngest sibling and her spouse don’t have a doctor due to such trust issues. Pray for them to have wisdom, as the mistrust is causing more harm than good.

  2. Two people are going into serious surgery on Monday and struggling with worry today.

W is on her third hernia surgery and some other “work.” She’s tired, achy and has a number of complicating issues– not the least of which is a job and work ethic that will not quit or even slow down.

Jill will deliver her little boy by c-section. Prayers continue for her platlet count to be high enough to stay awake and that baby Jace will not have hemophilia.

    Thank you.

And on the health front, I’m coughing and have little breath control–I’m sure it’s from exhaustion and the flying, the rib doesn’t bother me much–but I’m supposed to be a high soaring descant soprano tomorrow . . . I can barely sing alto, albeit I sound like it when I speak.

    Thanks.

  3. Just exchanged messages with Jill on FB. Please pray for her now:

“I feel I have soooo many obstacles right now. I started a high dose of steroids yesterday in the hospital and have not slept a wink. I’m so tired and emotional. I pray I’m able to sleep some the next 2 nights. It’s such a horrible feeling.
    All your prayers are appreciated.”

  4. Praying, ladies.

I need prayers that I will bite my tongue about a stressful situation at home that crops up on occasion, and has again today. Somebody turns into a jerk under certain circumstances, which are present today, and I have learned, the hard way, that there is nothing I can do but disengage and ride it out.

    Thank you.

  5. Prayers for patience, I’m at the hospital and have been tapped to transport her back to the convalescent place — I’m also getting squeamish about smells, mersa etc
