Prayer Requests 3-16-15

Anyone have something they’d like to share?

Psalm 86

¹Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy.

Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.

Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.

Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.

In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.

Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.

All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.

10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

11 Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.

13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.

15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

16 O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.

17 Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

  1. Miss Bosley’s appointment with vet is this morning. I easily got her take anxiety med in salman flavored pill pocket last night. But it did not calm her. She got more rowdy. I hope the 2nd dose will do her right.

  2. I have asked you to pray in the past for my Mama Ruth. She is the lady who stepped in to mother me when I lost my own to alcoholism.
She suffered a heart attack earlier today. She is currently in ICU. She asked to see me a week or so ago and I haven’t been able to get to her. I am feeling guilty for that.
She is a very strong Christian woman

  3. Prayers for spiritual encouragement — I’m feeling really burdened about Norma’s health (and my other friend in Colo., both facing serious cancers). And when this happens I tend to start thinking I probably have cancer, of course, with all those random ‘symptoms’ I think I feel … Ugh.

In short, life on this Monday seems like a slog.

And today is the 45th anniversary also of my father’s funeral — so long ago but such a sad and hard time in my late teen years. 😦 I don’t even really remember much about it, except that I rode with my older cousin in her little Toyota — it wasn’t until years later that I realized it also happened to be her birthday.

Her dad (my father’s brother) died just a couple years after that from an aneurysm as he and my aunt were getting ready for church one Sunday morning.

And the weather is too hot.

  4. Son has taken husband to town. They hope to finish up the banking things and make certain all car titles are in two names. I am encouraging them to get a full power of attorney for son so he can pick up any missed threads we have in the event husband continues to decline at the same rate. It was a struggle getting him into the car, I hope they can figure out how to get him out again or maybe the bank and courthouse folk can go out to the car. Prayers for wisdom for them.

  6. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for such a nice group of praying friends. I could never say enough thank Yous for this group. It is often larger than my church prayer group.

Lord, the needs each day are so great. It seems needs happen in waves, and this is such a needy time with the church family and with this blog family. I do find myself overwhelmed at times, and yet when I consider the needs of the persecuted Christians in other lands it puts things in a different perspective. Thank You for the witness of the persecuted who suffer greatly to show the priceless treasure we have in the name of Jesus.

Thank You for taking care of our animals until it is time for them to pass on. Thank You for giving them good homes, even Chas’ pet rock that adds fun for us all.

Lord, I pray You will help Mumsee and Mike in all their various needs. Their situation is complex. Only You know the full extent of the needs at the Nest. Please show Your great power and strength for the children to have the blessing of knowing how Jesus overcomes the troubles on earth. They need that bolstering of their faith that got off to a difficult beginning. Please don’t let them down. May the whole household experience the peace that passes understanding as they wait to see Your solutions. This is the season of renewal. Please renew their strength, let Mike walk and not grow faint. Please.

Lord, I also ask a blessing of healing and relief for my Brother in Christ, AJ. Please help his new med to be the one that helps most. Give him relief from anything that stresses his body and makes for high blood pressure. Please let all go well for Cheryl and their daughter in work and school.

Lord, I will continue, but want to post so I won’t accidentally lose this.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen

  7. Heavenly Father,

You are totally aware of all that Kbells family has been through. That awful tornado damage, the school trials and tribulations, and the financial needs. Now there is an opportunity for her husband to have good employment. Please help him to be aware of anything he needs to do or think about to prepare for his interview. If he needs practice, give him ways to do that. Please give him calmness and clarity as he goes into the interview. I pray for ease in communicating and a peaceful feeling throughout the interview. May he rest in the knowledge that You are on his side in this. Please give healing of his rash along with a good night’s rest. You are the One who can provide so we ask for Your best.

Abba, please make a gentle path for Mama Ruth at this time. Help Kim to ease up on feeling guilty. I pray Your best for this dear Christian lady who made our Kim have a better life. Thank You for those good attributes of Kim that are a refection of Mama Ruth. Take good care of her as she did Kim. Please.

Lord, Donna has a lot of weight pushing down on her right now. She tries to be a steady support for many while keeping up with ever increasing demands from her employment. You know how she occasionally, as we all do at times, feels herself sinking into a muddle of despair over how little control she has. She just wants things to be better for her friends, on the job, and in the world which she sometimes has to view from the negative side being in the news field. Please give her some uplifting news and happenings that she knows are from Your hand of blessing. Help her to keep her thoughts stayed on You so she can relax into Your peace that the world knows not.

Lord, please continue to bless my husband and see him and the office mates through this busy and, as always, complex tax season. Every year the government brings on new complications and demands. It never gets easier. Please, may all the deadlines for the various aspects of the business be met.

Lord, I always tend to forget to pray over something important. You know things I have neglected this time. Please work on those unmentioned requests, too. So many are in need.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen

  8. A prayer request of a different nature… I’m asking for wisdom, as hubby has given me the green light on allotting our income tax refund money toward wherever I want to put it. Usually he has in mind some project that a significant portion of the money should go to, but this year there really is none, so I can divvy up the whole amount as I choose.

We’re also reworking our budget, so prayers for wisdom on that would be appreciated, too. Thank you.
