It’s Friday, so don’t forget to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the young folks at The Nest.
Anyone else?
Psalm 78:1-7
¹Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
3 Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.
Husband continues to be deteriorating. He is basically chair bound for twenty three hours a day. I suspect depression from the constant pain is part of it. He sits in his pj’s in his lift chair day and night, eating and sleeping there. He gets up to use the facilities but that is about it, except for doctor appts. This next Monday he will have to get up to go get a son from the airport who is flying in for a funeral of one of our WWII friends. Not that we were there, but the friend was. If he is not up to it, another son will probably go get him.

So sad to hear, mumsee, but good for specific prayer. Does his medication add to his tiredness? Praying he gets some good answers to what is really going on and some solutions to make life better for him.

My mom seems very content at my brother’s house. She likes her new rooms and looks better than she has for a few years. I suppose a lot of stress is off her shoulders. I was sad to hear my brother say all churches only want money. Neither he or his girlfriend attend any church or show any interest. My mom goes with another brother and his wife. I am not sure how much of the gospel they understand. She does not read the bible at all herself. Thank you for your prayers and please pray for spiritual life.
My husband’s cousin’s wife, Melissa, just heard she needs a heart transplant. They are believers. Please pray for wisdom and peace for them.

Oh mumsee, I’m so sorry — and isn’t there a surgery coming up this month, or has that plan changed? Any upcoming doctor’s visits that might provide some relief or hope of progress?

My prayers for all the above, & for any that come along later.
Lee needs a stress test (scheduled for early April) due to a low heart rate, & sometimes feeling his heart race. The doctor is a bit concerned it may be angina.
As you know, running this route involves too many hours, a lot of stress, physical exertion (which is good in proper proportion, of course), & not enough sleep. I’ve seen him physically age before my eyes over the last two years.
Please pray for God’s healing touch on his heart (& healing from the prostate cancer still within him), that this route sells soon, & for a good job to come along when he is finished with the route. I’m even going to boldly ask that the job be well-paying, because we have debts that need to be paid off, our house needs some repairs, & we have several appliances between upstairs & downstairs that need to be replaced. There are other needs, too, & it is overwhelming.
I am praying according to His word, that the answer will be exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ask or imagine.

Also, please pray for my old high school friend Anne (we are connected on Facebook these days, but live in different states). She is very bitter against Christianity & Christians. She puts on a veneer of being a tough lady one doesn’t want to tangle with, but I perceive that she is much more sensitive & vulnerable than she lets on. From one brief comment she made a while ago, I believe she wants to believe, but her bitterness is standing in her way.
She recently shared a quote by Victor Hugo – “I would prefer an intelligent hell to a stupid paradise.” – & commented that this is why she’s not afraid of hell, that she’ll like the people there better. 😦
I hesitate to get into these matters with her, because I used to comment on these things, & she unfriended me for a while. For now, I am treading carefully, saving my defenses for things that might really make a difference.
Praying God’s love & His Holy Spirit will prevail in her heart.
