Prayer Requests 3-5-15

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for the folks in PNG.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 77

¹I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.

In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.

I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.

I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.

Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?

Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?

Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.

10 And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

11 I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

13 Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

15 Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

16 The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.

17 The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.

18 The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.

19 Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

20 Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

  1. I may or may not get to pop in tomorrow, but I am going on my church’s annual women’s retreat tomorrow. It will last from tomorrow morning at 10 am until Saturday at 3 pm. Janice very graciously helped me get started on a prayer for my family to weave into our prayer tapestry. I have managed to go to every one they have had since I joined this church. I am really looking forward to it and am craving and requesting your prayers for me (and the other women) as we take this time together.
    Thank you.

  2. In Ukarumpa, PNG, the high school band and choir is asking for prayer as he is taking them all, 53 students to Lae, three hours away, to preform this weekend. There is a bridge still out on the Highlands Highway. If it is not repaired, they will not be going. They do let vehicles cross a temporary bridge, but individuals charge various amounts to let you cross.

  3. For me, I think my plans just got changed. My son called and said that his wife’s sister is heading to the hospital today as her water broke. So.. he asked if he could bring the kids to me today. I have a 5:30 appointment tonight, but am free otherwise. I was going to Colorado tomorrow, but that can easily change. Hmmm…. better go crawl in friends attic again and bring out the large tub of stuffed animals and children’s books. oh, probably need food in the house too. Today is payday and since I was leaving, I don’t have much in the house.

  4. Just read this and everything will shift into perspective:

    Song for a Fifth Child
    by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton
Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing and butter the bread,
Sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I’ve grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
    (Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
    (Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping’s not done and there’s nothing for stew
And out in the yard there’s a hullabaloo
But I’m playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren’t her eyes the most wonderful hue?
    (Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

  5. Heavenly Father,

Each day brings a new abundance of blessings. We never know quite what to expect, but even what momentarily seems bad in our lives, we can wait to see how You will weave it into something good.

Thank You for the opportunity Kim has to be at the women’s retreat. May all the women move spiritually forward in their lives based on what they do, see, and hear at this event. May this be a fast forward to spiritual awakenings and breakthroughs on strongholds such as bitterness and unforgiveness. I pray the same for my retreat scheduled for April.

Thank You, Abba, for Your obvious care over Jo and her family. Thank You for the love she experiences from so many directions. You have her covered by Your comforting wings of love. Please bless the traveling band in whichever way You deem best. May their plans happen as scheduled unless You have better plans. May all feel content as You make known the best plan.

Thank You for how You are giving comfort to the afflicted today. Please keep all who have had surgery on Your good road to healing.

I pray for all the lost relatives, friends, coworkers, and visitors to our churches that they would become totally open to understand the salvation gift they are being offered through Christ. Please soften hard hearts this day. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  6. these two children are very early risers, and very loud and extroverted, especially the 5 year old girl. The opposite of me. It will be a challenge, but God is already giving me creative ideas.
Now to get some groceries. Plus my friend already crawled into her attic an is bringing me my children’s books and the little stuffed animals, beanie babies

  7. Please continue to pray for my cousin Jill. Cord is still wrapped around the baby’s neck twice and they have a host of other potential health issues. The most serious is a 1:2 chance of hemophilia for the baby. I’ve been wondering ever since I learned his sex. Still a scheduled c-section a month from today. Thanks.

  8. B is still missing. The local police were not being very helpful, so, I contacted the FBI Wednesday, on behalf of the grandma (her English is limited and being from El Salvador, she is fearful of the federales, although she’s here legally). She was extremely grateful for my help. Also, we reported her missing to The Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Please continue to pray for B’s safe return. Additionally, grandma had a minor heart attack Tuesday night due to very high blood pressure. So, please pray for her health as well.

  9. My 54 year old brother, Mike, could use your prayers. He was a captain at Air Tran for 15 years. They were bought by Southwest recently and he must learn a new plane and Southwest’s procedures, which are significantly different from Air Tran’s. Please pray he would master the new material quickly. Prayers for his salvation would also be appreciated. Thanks!

  10. Heavenly Father,

You inspire hope in our hearts that although sometimes it seems the difficulties in life are overbearing, You are atop them all with Your covering of love. We are tested in suffering and difficulties. Will we be faithful to call upon You? That is why we have this prayer site. It is a place to show faithfulness to You, belief in You, to honor and glorify You as we lift up needs to You. We recognize You to be our only hope for good outcomes.

Please help the child in the womb mentioned by Michelle. The womb should be a safe place, but sometimes things go wrong. You know the details, the unseen workings of pregnancy and delivery of babies. Please, Abba, take care of the needs of this woman and preborn baby. Give them a miracle if needed, a miracle over and above Your routine miracle of the usual birth process. Thank You for Your decision, however You choose to work in this situation.

Lord, I lift up those needs expressed by Annms. Please let B. be located, unharmed. Help all who are concerned to pray rather than worry. As in all things, You know what has happened. You are fully aware of the needs. Give Your divine resolution, quickly, please.

Please give Annms’s brother freshness of mind and a I can do this attitude. Raise his confidence that he can retrain his brain and body to quickly learn new procedures while forgetting the old. How stressful it must be for him for all he learns will be knowledge needed to keep people safe while flying. May he seek You as his Helper unlike he has done before. He needs You. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
