¹O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
3 Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.
4 Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.
5 A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.
6 But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.
7 They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.
8 They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.
9 We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.
10 O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?
11 Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.
12 For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.
1. Please pray for Kurt. We went to school together and he is battling cancer. He has a great sense of humor about it. He asked for prayers as he fights this.
2. Please pray for George as he deals with BG. She has been with him almost two years and while she constantly stomps on my heart and tears me apart emotionally she hasn’t been doing her usual stuff with him until recently. He told me yesterday that she is making decisions that will effect her the rest of her life and he has tried to talk to her about them. He said he is worn out fighting her. I can relate. I have done my best to back him 100% on the discipline he has handed down, but now that they are living with his mother he has two of them ganged up against him. I understand that as well. When BG was small and wouldn’t eat his mother would step in and fix her something special. I had thought that living with Nana was a good thing. They have all taken away any ability I had to discipline her, so it isn’t like I can swoop in and do anything. All I can do on this end is pray and so I am asking all of you to pray too that he can get through to her. Otherwise I don’t know what else to do.
My most economically vulnerable child’s job is moving to Boise, Idaho in six weeks. They’re stunned and not sure what the next move should be–whether to go (which they don’t want to do), stay (which they may not be able to afford given he’s a machinist) or a combination of the two (look for a job in this messy job market closer to here but cheaper to live. Idaho may be the best answer if that’s the key. :-()
Whatever God leads them to, it probably means two of my adorable grandchildren will not be living down the street–and breaking up those four little girls is breaking all of our hearts.
This also means three of our four children are looking for jobs. And just last week I was thinking how smoothly our life was going . . .
We believe God and we trust him. I have no idea what that ultimately will look like.
Thanks for the prayers for my best friend’s daughter, B, who lost her teaching job last week. K reports that B is feeling some better, keeping busy with things, and has travel plans to visit relatives on the West Coast for a couple weeks this month.
I plan to write B a letter of encouragement today. Prayers for wisdom as I compose the letter are appreciated. Thanks much.
Praying for you all…Kim you know we’ve been on that path before…it is difficult to watch and harder still to walk…keeping you in my thoughts and prayers…trusting the Lord in all things and thanking Him for strength to get you through….
We have two looking for jobs Michelle…it is difficult…asking the Lord to provide and keep careful watch over you and yours….
6arrows it is a good report that B is keeping busy…have prayed our Lord would protect her heart and give to her hope in the valley as well as on the mountaintop!
Asking for prayer for our sweet neighbor Richard…late 70’s…major 8 hour heart surgery today….sweet kind gentle man…his wife will be staying in town with their son…they all love the Lord…we are trusting in His care and wisdom…thanks
Thank you, NancyJill. That is a hopeful sign to me, too, that she is keeping busy. She has also sought out Christian counseling, so I’m thankful to hear that she has an opportunity for regularly talking things out with someone from a Christian perspective.
Our worship pastor told us yesterday he has a tumour/growth in his chest. He will have a biopsy this week sometime. He’s a young man in his forties with a wife and 2 children (older teens)
Kim – As a grandmother with my grandson living with me, I understand that his mommy’s rules rule, & that I shouldn’t circumvent or ignore her wishes. (Giving an extra cookie now & then doesn’t count. 😉 ) Can George talk to his mom & ask her to cooperate with him & you? (I realize that could be difficult, depending on her personality & their relationship. I would have had trouble dealing with my own mom in that kind of situation.)
Please pray for the lady we knew as Cameron on WMB. She is pregnant with twin girls, & today wrote on Facebook..
“In case you missed it, my water broke yesterday morning (well, Elizabeth ‘s did), Ruth’s seems to be intact.
“Currently, no one is in distress, so they’re trying to stop my labor as long as possible. My OB seems hopeful I could last three more days to a week at this point.
“I’ve been upgraded from labor & delivery to antepartum as well, so that’s encouraging.”
She is only at 32 weeks, so they would like to delay labor & delivery for as long as they can.

Boise is a nice looking place. It’s only 4,5,6,7, or so hours from Mumsee. 🙂

Kim – I understand, in my own way, & am praying. Trust her to God, it’s all you (or I) can really do.
Michelle – You must dread the thought of them moving away. Praying they won’t have to, but above all, that God’s will be done.

Michelle, I know you will be sad. However, the way California is going, it might be good to leave now.
