Prayer Requests 2-21-15

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 67

¹God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

  1. Last night I mentioned that Forrest was throwing up a lot. After the initial purging, he continued to throw up every hour for most of the night. Poor little sweetie!

He got this from his dad, who had it on Wednesday, the night he had Forrest sleep over (a rarity). Now I fear it will go through all of us.

    My requests:

Of course, I pray it will somehow pass me (& all of us) by.

Emily only had three hours of sleep last night, & she has a couple tests today. (Usually she has “clinicals” – working with patients – on Saturdays, but due to three Mondays in a row of classes being cancelled because of snow, they are making up those classes today). Please pray that her mind will be clear & work well for those tests, &/or that she finds herself calling on God for help, & finds Him there.

PLEASE pray that no matter who else gets this virus (which involves several hours of serious vomiting) that Lee will not get it. He cannot take a sick day, as there is no one else to work his route. If he were to take a sick day out of sheer necessity, he would have to cram that day’s work into the next day or two, which is extremely difficult when he’s already working 14-hour days, & of course, after a sickness like this, one doesn’t have much energy.

God has been gracious so far in that Lee has not gotten any of the colds the girls & Forrest & I have shared. Praying it will be the same with this.

    Thank you.

  2. Husband was called out last night around midnight to assist the RCMP. So thankful he is on his way home now – it’s -20F out there with windchill -37F. I think they all spent part of the night in one of the park cabins.

  3. A nice visit with dad and stepmom, yesterday. She is looking much better, despite the fall and bruised ribs from Tuesday. The doctor on Thursday was adamant that she needs to be in a nursing home. They, and her son, were adamant she is doing well where she is and the fall could just as easily have occurred in a nursing home. They are a very loving couple, lots of hand holding and kisses and they do not want to give that up. They are each other’s encourager and that helps both of their health. That is how I remember his relationship with my mom as well. He took care of her until the end. Of course, he was thirty years younger.

  4. Everyone home safe and sound – turns out it was a search and rescue of silly people who got wet in the flood ice (when lake water flows above the ice as the snow pushes the ice down).

  5. Eldest daughter now understands that sweet adorable seventeen year old daughter lies. It will change their interactions a bit, but eldest daughter is fairly wise so things should go well now.

  6. It is quietly amusing to watch yet another who thought, if we would just love them more, learn to deal with the issues my children have. Eldest daughter and her husband had an idea and had some experience dealing with it, but this is different. She is much more understanding of why I have the peculiar rules I have for them.

  7. A belated praise to God for His protection over my globe-trotting niece. I learned yesterday that she was in Paris when the Charlie Hebdo attacks took place. She had been in Spain for a week or so before that and was flying back to the States and happened to be at a Paris airport at the time of the shootings.

  8. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the blessings I hear about when I read this prayer thread. The mainline news is always so bad. The general public would get the impression that there is no good left in the world, but as Christians we share bad and good together and know You are at work turning bad to good for those who love You and are called by You.

Father God, I lift up Karen O’s family. Please protect them from this horrible stomach bug. Especially I ask that You will keep Lee from getting it. Please bless them all with an extra effective rest when they lay down to sleep. May they get the good rest insured by turning burdens over to Jesus. I pray Emily continues to thrive in her program. Please bless Chrissy in her endeavors. I persistently ask for salvation for those two girls. Now seems better than later, but sometimes You wait. We continue to wish, hope, and wait for the good news of them flourishing in Jesus.

Lord, please continue giving Mumsee and Mike Your extraordinary wisdom as they train up these young ones with unusual backgrounds and behaviors. Life in general is difficult, but it is more difficult for those who must overcome damages from people in their lives who should have been trustworthy for their care. Please light the daily psth for Mumsee and Mike so they see clearly each step You want them to take.

Lord, our son needs a summer job. Please take the burden he feels over that and make a path to work he can be successful at. He won’t have money for summer rent without an income. He feels he needs to take summer classes so he needs a job to allow for that. You know the details of how to fit it all together. Please show Yourself as his great Providence.

Thank You for blessing others here who I’ve not had time to mention. You know the needs of all of our lives. Help us each to daily walk humbly with You, calling out to You first in trouble times, casting our cares and fears upon You, and trusting completely in You concerning every aspect of our lives. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
