Prayer Requests 2-16-15

Does anyone have something they’d like to share?

Psalm 62

¹Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

  1. Had a very tough morning. I was kind of stumbling (mentally & emotionally) from one chore to the next, thinking about, & feeling overwhelmed by, all the things going on right now, & all the things that need to be done that we don’t have time for, talking to God about it all, & weeping. At one point, I stopped, hung my head, & said to God, “I am so scared! I am so scared.”

Then a little song popped into my mind, I believe from the Holy Spirit. It was a little children’s song from a tape we had when the girls were young, which had songs with scriptures in them. “When I am afraid, I will trust in Him. I will trust in Him, I will trust in Him.” I started singing it aloud, substituting “You” for “Him”. My spirit finally calmed down.

It was a little later that I said aloud, “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”

  2. Karen, we have two CDs by Steve Green entitled Hide ‘Em In Your Heart (Volumes 1 & 2). Both of those verses you quoted (“When I am afraid, I will trust in You” and “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”) are set to music on those CDs. Or maybe they’re both on one CD, I don’t remember, but we used to sing along with that music a lot in the early years of homeschooling.
