Prayer Requests 2-14-15

Anyone have something they’d like to share?

Psalm 61

¹Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.

From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.

Thou wilt prolong the king’s life: and his years as many generations.

He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.

So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

  1. Heavenly Father,

The winter days can feel very burdensome to those in the colder climates. All situations seem to have extra weight and just to stay warm causes extra expenditures of energy and funds which may both be in short supply. I pray You will give Karen O a break from feeling so heavily burdened. Please give refreshment to her soul. Help her as she shares her husband’s stress over their situation. Help her not to be anxious over her daughters’ spiritual situations. Help her to not feel responsible for enlightening those on social media who are basically pig-headed and intolerant. You know what her triggers are for depression. May she be given glimpses of the good future You have planned for her. I ask that she will be given personal relevant words of scripture that will be like life boats for her to hang onto during rough water days and nights. Bless her with feeling loved and appreciated. Please ♡

I also lift up Donna, Lord. She is a blessing to so many people around her. Thank You for sustaining her through these difficult economic days in her industry. Thank You for her ability to quickly produce good writing of high interest. Thank You for her Christian viewpoint that does not turn a mostly secular readership away from her good writing. I thank You that she has been and will be a good mama to her pets. And thank You that we have the pleasure of knowing her kindnesses here which encourage us to follow her example in caring for those around us. i pray You will continue to give her job security because of her flexibility and willingness to do what is necessary to get good coverage of local events.

Please bless others here who are struggling in various ways such as with family members facing medical procedures or unrelenting pain. Again, You know each need. Help those who are in grief over loved ones passed away or fading away. It hurts, and they need Your comfort.

Since it is Valentine’s Day, I am reminded to tell You thanks for chocolate.

You are ever so good. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  2. Chas, kind of — I’ve heard that it’s only the true dark-dark chocolate (in its more raw form which isn’t typically sold in markets, but maybe it’s close to baking chocolate?) that has the properties that are good for us.

Hershey bars & kisses, not so much, sadly.

It’s kind of like the downside to the news that red wine has properties that are really healthy for us — turns out it’s only if you ingest it in very large quantities, which brings on all sorts of other problems, of course. 🙂

  3. My husband and I need prayers for wisdom. We discovered something this afternoon about our adult daughter (firsthand evidence, not hearsay) that we both agree needs discussing with her. When and how are what we needs prayers about.

Along perhaps similar lines (but without concrete evidence, only a feeling), we probably need to have a heart-to-heart with our adult son, too, or at least a man-to-man between hubby and son.

  4. 6 Arrows – Dealing with problems with our adult children is so tough, isn’t it? We want to give them our wisdom & advice, or sometimes a little warning about something we see happening, but they often (usually?) don’t want to hear it from us. Lee & I struggle, too, with how to approach certain issues with our daughters.

Praying for wisdom & insight for you & your husband.
