I start teaching a nine-week overview of Jeremiah today. We’re obviously just hitting specific points, but I’d like prayers I’m able to lead fruitful discussions that glorify God. So far, the study looks great!
I’m also having lunch today with a military wife; don’t know why God impressed it upon me I should spend some time with her. Wisdom and discernment there.
Who knows, Kim? The receptionist job could be a lot less stressful than what you’ve been doing, giving you a bit of a mental/emotional break while still bringing in some money, & may lead to something bigger down the road. Ya never know!
Hubby’s lay off is official. Our only current income is a little money I’m getting from the family business for taking care of mama and a small freelance job he had recently taken.
When it rains—my husband’s brother is not expected to live much longer. Heart issues. He was a minister, but more New Age than Christian in his thinking. Would appreciate prayer for him.
Middle daughter’s husband is a commercial fisherman. One of his main fishing boats is being sold. A man he has fished with wants him to go in on buying it, but they are not sure what is their best path right now. Prayers for wisdom for them are appreciated.
So sorry to hear that, kbells1! I know how painful that is. Praying for a job to replace that one soon!
kathaleena, Dave Ramsey says that the only ship that won’t sail is a “partnership.” He always recommends one person own it and the other work for him (with liberal compensation, such as % of the profits). He warns that partnerships are sunk due to the “D’s” – death, divorce, drugs, disinterest, and there may be a few others. Food for thought.
Thanks for the prayers for safe travels per my request late last night. There was a little precipitation briefly this morning, with a couple slippery spots, but we didn’t have trouble with them. And the overcast skies helped, as we didn’t have to look into the sun both ways (we traveled east in the morning and west in the afternoon).
Praying for all of you with requests today. KBells, so sorry.
Michelle, which study are you using? I’m reading through Jeremiah this year, and only Jeremiah, to change things up from my usual through-the-whole-Bible-in-a-year routine.
Kathaleena, regarding your son-in-law and his potentially buying something with someone else, when my brother-in-law died (very young and unexpectedly), there were several things he co-owned with others, and my sister had a huge mess on her hands trying to sort all that out. (He died without a will, which made things very difficult, but the co-ownership business may have been complicated, anyway, even if there had been a will. Not sure about all the technicalities, but thought I should mention that.)
Found a 3rd lead to pursue today as well. Just finished sending an email iwth my qualifications and other information. She is going out of town on Thursday so it may be a while before I hear back from her.
Thank you for your thoughts on co-ownership. My daughter has an MBA, so I am sure they will look at all the possibilities. He has worked in this business all his life. Pray they will be in agreement about how to move forward.
I have two job leads to pursue today. The sooner I am out of here the better.

Go Kim.
Lots of sickness going around our office. So far I haven’t been struck.

Well one isn’t available until March or April.
The other is a receptionist job. Talk about starting over.

Michelle’s study and lunch went well. Thanks for prayers.
Jeremiah study is an IV Press 9-week LifeGuides study. Good for discussion questions. I supplement.
