Prayer Requests 1-15-15

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for the folks in PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 32

¹Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.

11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

  1. Prayer for husband as he deals with chronic pain and the limitations he did not expect. He figures he is better off dead than not living. I encourage him to see his doctor and address this, get on anti depressants, see what he can do rather than what he can’t. Wisdom on how to help him help himself.Thanks.

  2. Prayers for me in what may be an opportunity to at least prepare the way to share the gospel (or for someone else to do that later).

I’m giving a co-worker a ride home from work this week, here and there (her car’s totaled). She was raised in a liberal, activist mainline Presbyterian home back east (her father was a minister, so she grew up in the liberal church).

Interestingly, it’s left her, now in her 30s, somewhat conservative politically, but wary and suspicious of “religion” (and curiously — or maybe not — pretty uninformed with regard to what Christianity really is all about).

A few things she’s said makes me think she’s probing …

  3. Just got an email from Ukarumpa. The primary school will open on Monday. They are curtailing the school day, only til noon on Monday and Tuesday and til 2 the other days. No science or social studies. This will go on until they find someone to help, as this is making do with the teachers they currently have. Prayers for those teachers as they stretch to cover more grades.

  4. Jo, not sure if you know (or care) but I thought I’d let you know that Carl is on his way back to PNG. Last I heard, he was in Port Moresby. He reported, “I feel like I am back home again. It is 90 degrees.”

  5. Interesting that while waiting at a red light, a car in front of me had a tag with the beginning letters being PNG.

Any word from RKessler? I left a prayer this morning on yesterday’s thread.

  6. Heavenly Father,

You made a beautiful world in the beginning. But the best of Your creation, even made in Your image, just made a mess of Your perfection. We continue to be mess makers yet over and over You show love and mercy to us. How can we help but to love You back when we realize the extent You so often stoop to lift us from the depths of despair? Thank You for Your consistent faithfulness 24/7. Help us to learn to be daily more faithful in our love for You.

Father God, I pray for those who have bodily ailments causing so much discomfort that they feel worthless. Where is Your remedy, Father God, for these who are Your children? You are able to do great things for You are almighty. We look to You to give relief to Idaho Mike, AJ, and Mr. P, and others who are suffering various afflictions like my husband with his back. All the pains do humble us and make us more reliant on You as Cheryl mentioned. Please turn these sufferings into some form of good. I pray that the witnesses to the suffering will see that You do bring help and aid in various forms during troubled times. Please don’t delay in bringing relief so that recognition of Your glory is hastened.

I pray for R KESSLER ‘ S daughter and the baby that all has gone smoothly with birthing and recovery. Please bless the grandson with a good life, spiritual maturity in Christ as he grows up and Your good favor all the days of his life.

Continue to help with what 6 Arrows family is dealing with, as well as Kathleen as family. They need Your intervention to bring comfort, peace, acceptance and transformation as the family unit changes.

Please help those stretched out teachers in PNG. I ask for them to have bursts of energy and to stay well. Give them ideas to consolidate lessons so they can cover more than they thought possible. Please do Your multiplication trick where less equals more.
! Thank You for Your supernatural ways of meeting needs for those engaged in Your work.

Also, Abba, please help make a good and perfect way for Donna to minister and witness to the one she mentioned. You have established this divine appointment for Donna. May your saving words flow into the heart of that needy one. Thank You, Abba, for regarding my prayers over these things important enough to answer. May all Your efforts, and answers generate thanksgiving, praise, and glory for You

I pray in Jesus’ name ,Amen
