Prayer Requests 1-5-15

Anyone have a request or a praise they’d like to share?

Psalm 23

¹The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

  1. I already mentioned a prayer request on the daily thread for our starting a new schedule, but in addition to that, and more importantly, I would like to request further prayer for my hubby as he makes decisions regarding his dad’s care. He visited his dad in the hospital both Saturday and Sunday, and now he’s headed there again to talk with staff about where they go from there with my FIL’s care.

Hubby has seven siblings, but most of the burden of determining what’s next is falling on him and the brother who lives the closest to my in-laws. Prayers for wisdom and strength, and a good support system where everyone is doing their part to the best of their abilities.

Prayers that I would be an effective source of support to my husband, too, in just the way he needs from me.

    Thank you.

  2. I desperately need your prayers, too. Feeling very weak today. My mom fell last night. She calls out in the night to my dad telling him to wait for her etc. She is not eating no matter what we do or who tries to get her to eat.

  3. I can’t imagine what your mom is going through, KI. Weeping with you all.

And 6–you can do it! Prayer will help, of course! And for your husband, too. So hard to see your parents weak, and then to have to make decisions . . . The longest 7 yeas of my life. 😦

  4. Thank you all so much for your prayers. Here at home, the day started out well, then faltered a bit, and now we’re pretty well back on track. IOW, a pretty normal day. 🙂 Except I had wanted to get outside with the kids about now, but we’ll probably forgo that, seeing as it just got above zero, but wind chill makes it feel like -14°.

Your prayers and encouragement mean so much to me.

Hubby’s morning did not go well at all at the hospital, although it was nice that two of his siblings were there this time, along with hubby and my MIL, to discuss my FIL’s care. I could write a long rant about everything that transpired and how it yielded zero answers, but I’ll spare you all.

Suffice it to say hubby came home hugely frustrated, wolfed down his lunch in about two minutes, and left in haste to go to work, two hours after his usual time. 😦

Please continue to pray for him. I really appreciate it.

  5. Thank you, all. Hubby called home from work after he’d been there a few hours, and sounded a lot more relaxed. Truly an answer to prayer. I am so grateful that you have lifted us up this day. ❤
