My granddaughter’s pre-school teacher is out with Influenza A, along with the granddaughter’s best friend and another child. She did have shots, so she may have had a lesser bout. Now I am wondering if this is what I have? I also had shots. I will not be going with my husband as he plays for the Sr. Citizen today or for another show tomorrow.
Saw my doctor yesterday and they definitely didn’t ‘push’ this year’s flu shot on me, so I passed (I rarely get the flu shot — and rarely get the flu). This year’s shot isn’t thought to be terribly accurate when it comes to the exact strain going around. But I suppose it still can help provide some protection.
Sorry you’re feeling bad, Kathleena. Praying for a speedy recovery.
My mom was diagnosed with gout yesterday. She’s been in severe pain since last Wednesday. Finally saw my BIL (surgeon) today at his office. He thought she had a bad infection that required surgery, but when they opened it up, it was severe gout. Her joint had ruptured due to the severity of the attack. They cleaned it out and stitched her up and sent her home. Two doctors agree she has it in both big toes as well. But, she can barely feel her feet (suspected Alcoholic Polyneuropathy), so isn’t experiencing any pain there yet, which is a blessing. Please pray she won’t suffer terribly from numerous outbreaks…
I’m feeling so sad tonight. My sister tried to talk with my dad about her drinking last night after Mom went to bed. He denied she ever gets drunk and said Mike (black sheep of the family) must have poisoned all the siblings minds about Mom having a drinking problem… Suffice it to say, it’s a mess. And, the situation needs prayer desperately. I need prayer desperately! I’m hurting a lot tonight…I don’t want her to suffer, yet she is…and I fear it’s only going to get worse. She arrived home at six and poured a large glass of bourbon at 6:10…Not the best thing to consume with gout.
