I would appreciate your prayers again today. It seems that whatever I do at work there is a correction for “next time”.
I have this knot of anxiety in my chest. I am taking wellbutrin but it isn’t helping.
Last night I skipped Bible study and went to my “emotional north”–my friend M. I talked it all through with her. Last night I tossed and turned and woke up praying.
Eventually you have to quit blaming outside forces for what is happening to you and look internally to what is wrong with you.
My sympathy Kim. That is difficult to live with. I often have that feeling and attribute much to my thyroid disease. I am sure there are other issues, but it often has no rhyme or reason. It has to be very difficult when you are working with it day after day.
Well, my tooth/jaw/whatever has not hurt for several hours and does not seem unhappy this morning. Very large, but not unhappy. It has sensation so it’s not numb. Interesting.
Kim – It could be a combination of both – how things are managed plus how you react. It is good to examine yourself, & to ask God to help you change what needs changing, but don’t let yourself carry all the blame. {{{Hugs}}} & prayers.
We have an appt at four this afternoon. But that is just to look at it because my dentist can’t actually do what needs to be done. Apparently she told me to get a root canal two years ago but I did not understand the directions or subconsciously suppressed it….
I am in awe that despite all the troubles on earth that You have kept it in place and spinning all these years. Some of our earthly difficulties make our heads spin in confusion or our jaws swell in pain. Other people can get on our nerves and we manage to do the same even when we think we are on our best behavior. Sometimes we judge others wrongly and sometimes we are misjudged. Sometimes we we put our desires before the needs of others in disregard of how You instruct us to live. Please help us to see all people including ourselves with Your compassionate eyes filled with love, mercy, and grace. Please heal the physically impaired and the emotionally wounded. Please energize those who feel overwhelmed by all there is to do in December. I pray all family, friends, clients, and co-workers will be slow to anger and quick to forgive. I pray for those who have deadlines for work or for taking care of personal business to beat the clock. I thank You for Kells good report. I pray for a good report on Dakotah. Please help Michelle with her writing. Please aid Cheryl’s sister with those awful situations that she is trying to help without getting in trouble for her involvement.Keep her safe and give her discernment and full wisdom. I pray for Emily as she continues through the court system with R. Bless Forrest through all the fray. Please help 6 Arrows with that ongoing situation that has caused her grief. Lord, there are so many more prayer requests I have failed to mention. You know each large and small need of the people here. Thank You that my son is feeling better and continues to thrive in his grad school/work situation. You are good to always be available to love on us when we feel unlovable at times because of poor treatment by other people.
Well, I had a nearly painfree day today….until I went to the dentist. She partially drained the infection, without using number. Well, she used topical. We discussed it ahead of time though and she is good so it did not hurt like it might have. Now I wait for the phone call from the guy who does root canals and husband is off to another town to get my antibiotics. I had planned to go with him but my jaw started hurting so much he dropped me off for some pain killer. The dentist said if it gets worse to call her but if it starts to cut into my breathing, to go to the ER. Thanks for praying.
Oh, mumsee, that sounds so uncomfortable. Praying the drugs will be enough to get you through and settle the infection down until it can all get fixed.
Mumsee – I have often had very painful dental problems, so I am feeling empathy for you as I pray your pain & the infection will subside.
One time, a new dentist at the practice we go to should have given me a prescription for an antibiotic, but didn’t. We ended up calling the office on a Sunday, as I was in so much pain due to the untreated & growing infection.
I’ve had at least two, maybe three, root canals, & I didn’t find them to be as horrible as people make them out to be. Hang in there, & get that root canal, woman! 😉
I had 2-3 root canals on molars when I was only in my 20s-30s, but none since, thankfully.
Back in the day when root canals were probably still kind of new (early 1960s?), I had an older cousin (Ronnie) who had to get one as a kid. But before the dentist could even shoot him up, Ronnie shot up and over the back of the dental chair and escaped. Dentist was not amused.
Can’t remember if they ever got him back in or not …
No, it is more the anticipation that is painful. Dentists are not really out to hurt people. I suspect tooth cleaning and inspections hurt more than the actual fillings and root canals. Unless they hit a nerve with the novacaine but that is rare.

Thanks for the prayers over the weekend. Things are looking up.

I probably wouldn’t *hear* the words root canal myself. I would probably go completely deaf, smile sweetly, say thank you, and leave — la-de-da.

Of course, I suppose this means you won’t be competing the race to 100 for the next day or two … ?
Just checking.
