Prayer Requests 11-8-14

Anyone have a request or praise to share?

Psalm 126

¹When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.

The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

  1. My neighbor and good friend, Cindy, had surgery yesterday. Please pray she’d have a speedy recovery. She’s had a lot of health problems the last year and is tired of hurting. Thanks!

Continued prayers for my brother, Mike.

Prayers for my sister and her family that they would be able to raise the funding necessary to return to Rwanda for a five year commitment.

  2. My dad is back in the hospital with pneumonia. He is in ICU because of his numerous health issues. That leaves my mom home alone. I don’t like that, but she insists she is fine, of course. Needless to say, I would appreciate prayers for them and wisdom for us. We live an hour away, while most of the rest of the family is close by them.

  3. If I could request further prayer regarding the situation with my husband’s cousin and her family…

On last weekend’s prayer thread, I mentioned that his 47-year-old cousin had had a cardiac arrest. My husband learned today that she has only now regained consciousness. We are relieved and thankful she survived, but though we don’t know many details, there is undoubtedly a long road ahead for her.

Please pray also for her husband and daughter; this has had to have been a grueling week for them, as it likely will be for some time yet.

    Thank you so much.

  4. Thank you, Ann. My mom would not have to be alone. She insists on it. I understand wanting to be independent, but it does lead to some worry for others. It is often difficult to know when to honor what your elderly parents want and what is best for them.

  5. R called E. He told her that he originally went to the hospital (ER, I assume) because he had a respiratory infection. Something they gave him caused him to have an allergic reaction, which he said sent him to ICU (that is possible). Then he asked to be transferred to the psych unit, to have his medications adjusted. Seems he’s been on some sort of psych meds since the time he was committed after that suicide threat.

Praying he hears the wooing of the Holy Spirit, & finally surrenders himself to God.

  6. Some other quick concerns for prayer:

***Emily has that date coming up this week. (They are meeting at & keeping to public places – a museum & a restaurant.) Praying her heart will not “fall in love” with this man, & neither will he with her, unless this is of God.

***Speaking of Emily, she just shared on Facebook a short video about the grandeur of nature, that it has been around longer than we have, & that nature doesn’t need people, but we need nature. Praying my nature loving/worshiping daughter will see that God is the Creator of all that beautiful nature she adores, & that she will turn her worship & adoration to Him.

***Lee spoke on the phone with a man who is interested in buying a route. They’ll talk again soon. Praying God’s will be done in this.
