Prayer Requests 10-20-14

Anyone have a request or a praise they’d like to share?

Psalm 112

¹Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

  1. Yesterday, we had a young man enter our church just before the pastor’s sermon. We had just started singing and the woman he sat next to handed him a hymnal after greeting him quietly. He was very fidgety throughout his time in church. The sermon was a message on being right with the Lord and knowing him. The young man called out to the pastor that he did know “Him” (the Lord). The pastors reassured him that he knew that. The pastor did address him by name and the young man was quiet for the last minute needed to wrap up the sermon. He left after the sermon, but before the service ended. I have no idea what his story is.

The woman mentioned later that she was praying for him. I was, too, and so was my husband. I am sure there were many others, who happened to be able to see him, also praying for him.

Our church has a strong ministry to those addicted to drugs, alcohol and other things. We also have a strong prayer ministry. I know many will be praying for that young man. It may be related to an addiction or simply some issue in his life that caused distressed. He may be mentally handicapped in some way. I have no idea and may never know, however, I do know I am grateful for being among people who pray, whether on here or in my church.

  2. Lee was VERY discouraged this evening before going to bed. He feels like he is working himself ragged only to go deeper into debt. And now our car sounds like the transmission may be about to go. He needs relief, & he needs it soon.

    Please pray. Thank you.

  3. Oh, I can so relate, Karen. My husband sounds so much like yours. He works himself to the bone, yet we experience one financial setback after another. Vehicle repairs. Broken promises (someone told him several months ago he wanted to buy his four-wheeler this fall; now he says he can’t until spring). We’ll need to go into our investments to pay for repairs on the vehicles we do have.

Hubby was lamenting this morning that he’s 55 years old and he has to go get a part-time job to supplement his full-time income. He’d be good at the one he’s considering, but he’d be gone from about 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. He’ll never see our kids except on weekends. 😦

It IS very discouraging. I am tempted more often now to ask God why He does not seem to come through for our hard-working men. 😦

    Prayers for you and Lee.

Also for Ann’s brother Mike, and the young man Kathaleena mentioned.
