My husband read that the Secret Service was told to back off in the White House, that people there (the Obamas? people who work there?) wanted more privacy & room.
The Secret Service is like other federal agencies. They are all completely incompetent. HHS can’t create a website though it spent almost a billion dollars. The intelligence agencies are a joke. NASA can’t build a rocket. FEMA trained volunteer first responders in sensitivity training before sending them to a disaster area. Now the Secret Service allows an intruder to roam through the White House. Treasury and the federal housing agencies almost wrecked the world’s economy in 2007.
However, every federal agency is wonderfully diverse. The government’s imitation of Inspector Clouseau serves a useful purpose. It will make libertarians out of many young people.
Surprise! Surprise! Women make better wives than do men, but are less competent than males as Secret Service agents as they can be overcome by strong male intruders. Of course, humans have known this for thousands of years. Only in the West have we made idiocy a major component of public policy.
