Prayers, please, for my sister and her family as they readjust to life in America. Their new son is (understandably) having the hardest time. Up until about six months ago, he lived in a cave with no electricity or running water. He is five and was overwhelmed by HEB (our big grocery store chain). He speaks only a little English; her two youngest biologicals speak a little Swahili… But it’s a lot for the little guy. Linda (sister) requested I ask all of you to pray for them…
Praying, Ann. We have several nieces and nephews who were adopted, and some have faced similar circumstances as your sisters’ children, two of them adopted at age 5 without knowing English, one of them adopted at 13, having had one year of English studies at the orphanage, before which time she and her younger bio siblings had been living alone under a tree.
There can be many hurdles to overcome at first, but God is faithful, and the loving home your sister and her husband provide will go far to help ease their adjustment to new cultures and languages.
