Prayer Requests 7-28-14

Anyone have a request or praise they’d like to share?

Psalm 29

¹Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength.

Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters.

The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars; yea, the Lord breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.

The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire.

The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.

10 The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King for ever.

11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

  1. Prayers, please, for my sister and her family as they readjust to life in America. Their new son is (understandably) having the hardest time. Up until about six months ago, he lived in a cave with no electricity or running water. He is five and was overwhelmed by HEB (our big grocery store chain). He speaks only a little English; her two youngest biologicals speak a little Swahili… But it’s a lot for the little guy. Linda (sister) requested I ask all of you to pray for them…

  2. Praying, Ann. We have several nieces and nephews who were adopted, and some have faced similar circumstances as your sisters’ children, two of them adopted at age 5 without knowing English, one of them adopted at 13, having had one year of English studies at the orphanage, before which time she and her younger bio siblings had been living alone under a tree.

There can be many hurdles to overcome at first, but God is faithful, and the loving home your sister and her husband provide will go far to help ease their adjustment to new cultures and languages.

    Blessings.
