Prayer Requests 7-26-14

Anyone have a request or praise to share?

Psalm 28

¹Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.

Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.

Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.

Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.

Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.

Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

  1. Difficult night here. A 17-year-old who needed to talk late into the night — well past 11:00 pm — with heavy things on her mind. A 6-year-old who woke up a little past midnight with a fever and pain in both of her ears. And a mom who can’t sleep, even when the daughters can and do.

  2. Thank you, Jo. It’s about 5:30 here, and I’ve had about 20-30 minutes of sleep the whole night. We can certainly use the prayers.

Hope your eyes are getting better, too.

  3. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Sunday and all the learning about You and worshipping You that wii be taking place today. Bless all the Christian fellowship as groups gather in Jesus’ name. Many prayers will be lifted up to You. I hope You will find that they align with Your desires. Bless all the worship leaders with Your leading. May the music selections be Holy Spirit inspired.

Lord, I ask for good health and needed rest for 6 Arrows and her family. Help her as she prepares her piano lessons. May she have the right number of students to meet the varying needs within the family. I pray for successful homeschooling plans and implementation. Thank You for Your blessings upon her family.

Lord, thank You for working toward healing of Jo’s eye ailment. I ask that those derving in PNG would have access to medicines they need. Thank You for the healing qualties of witch hazel. It does not sting like rubbing alcohol. Is the source of witch hazel grow in PNG?

Lord, I ask Your special blessings to be on the pastors of our land today. May they only speak words inspired by the Holy Spirit. Bless their wives and families that can be supportive of the work the pastor has been called to do.

Thank You again for this day and Your goodness we encounter. I the wonderful name above all names, Jesus. Amen

  4. 6 arrows, can you grab a nap sometime today (not in church)? I’m beat after the whirlwind cleaning and reorganizing (not done, but definitely closing in on finishing, though it may have to wait until after today).

My ride is staying in this morning after a long day at the hospital on late last week for her biopsy. She’s feeling weary and has another appointment with her cardiologist tomorrow.

I didn’t get up until 8, which means I’m scrambling to get to church this morning myself. Considered skipping it but I always hate it when I do (just for tiredness).

How are your eyes, Jo? My stye (or what looked like one developing) seemed to be just a minor swelling that went away after a few hours the other day. Lately I’d been dotting on a bit of eyeliner on the lower inside lid near the base of the lashes which I think may have caused it. So I’ve stopped doing that.

  5. Hi, Donna. I was just coming here to report that 6th Arrow’s fever is gone now, and her ears aren’t hurting anymore. I went and got her some homeopathic sublingual tablets, and those brought quite quick relief. The two of us stayed home from church, and I got in a 40- or 45-minute nap while everyone else was getting ready for church, so I’m feeling not quite so tired. I know it’ll hit me later again, though, as 1 or 1 1/4 total hours sleep for a night isn’t gonna do it. 😉

Thank you to all who prayed for my requests. I’ll update you on 3rd Arrow (17-year-old mentioned in my 4:00 am request) after I see more of her. With my early-morning run to the store to get the ear medicine, and then my taking a nap, I didn’t have a chance to talk much with her on how she’s feeling about the things she brought up last night. Sometimes just the light of day is enough to give a better outlook. I’ll see her after she gets home from church.

  6. Third Arrow is fine today; the thing that was bothering her the most is not nearly so troublesome now. Thanks for praying.

If you could add just one more prayer for her…she starts behind-the-wheel tomorrow, and prayers are appreciated, as she’s just a tad nervous about it. Thanks.

  7. eyes are gradually getting better. Not so watery or itchy. Trying to decide when they will be good enough so that I can go play with the quints. 🙂
