  1. I’m teaching again tomorrow.
That isn’t a rant. The rant is the assigned text is Ezekiel 43:1-12.
    It’s about Ezekiel’s temple.
    This temple was never built.
Some scholars say it’s the millennial temple.
But Ezekiel’s temple has a place for animal sacrifice and priests.
We need neither. Nor will we need them in the millennium.
The sacrifice has been made once for all.
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper for that.
And Jesus is the eternal priest.
Where does that leave Ezekiel’s temple?

  2. 🙂 Had a great family reunion last weekend. Four generations all together having food, fellowship and fun- and getting along. The LORD has blest me with a family that doesn’t quarrel and bicker over trivial things. All my generation are believers, and most of the next generation is. My parents and most of the youngest are still lost.

😦 Only a month before school gets back into gear.

  3. I will try not to be envious, PeterL, with that first rave. 😉

🙂 God knew and knows exactly what I need.

🙂 Family members who make a difficult time even more difficult. Those who always need drama. Those who assume the worse about anyone with whom they disagree. Those who are sure they know everyone’s every action, motive and thought. Those who share all that knowledge with others even though it is probably not true. Those who are quick to condemn anyone else who ‘judges’ anyone or anything, but sit in judgment of everyone else. Those who are outspoken again intolerance while being the most intolerant of all.

🙂 God’s word: a comfort and joy; a place to renew one’s mind and put it back to meditating on the truth.

🙂 My dad being able to be home, even though he is far from well.

🙂 Seven year old grandson is visiting for a few days without parents or siblings. He was thrilled to be able to pick blueberries. He does not like to eat them. A perfect picking partner. 😉 He does like to help make them into muffins.

🙂 Other daughter and her family will be coming from out of state for a few days. Yay!

    😦 I have a cold beginning.

  4. 🙂 Got to see–and photograph–a hunting red fox, and also a hummingbird moth, and young bluebirds, flickers, doves, and a couple other species. (The young goldfinches are so far staying out of camera range, though.)

🙂 Making progress through 😦 an editing job I really don’t like much.

🙂 Last night older daughter had a friend over and we all played “Clue.” I guessed the right combination of things on the first round!

😦 My oldest brother had knee-replacement surgery last week and is still (last I heard, a few days ago) having a lot of pain and some other issues. (He has some unique health challenges and we knew it would be a difficult surgery.)

  5. 🙂 Cheryl, that’s no fun! The game is over on the first round?!

🙂 Babysitting 3 year old twins, boy and girl, and their baby brother today

🙂 Daughter may come up to help me out – it’s going to be a long day

😦 Why do people need drama?

😦 Kind of a lousy week at work – boss putting people down behind their backs, but loud enough to be heard by those people.

😦 Pretty sure I don’t want to work in that environment anymore, even though I love the work I do

🙂 Opportunities elsewhere and God knows

  6. 🙂 Three days by myself to really work on my book. Looking good.

🙂 Adorable granddaughter headed over to pick green beans; we’re hoping to fool her into eating them, too.

🙂 .My husband is off on a mission trip with the high schoolers to Kansas City–where they’ll be toured around the Sporting KC stadium by everyone’s favorite soccer goalie (now out with a broken finger) next Saturday on their free day.

😦 Incredibly awful week for (not) sleeping.

🙂 FInally steeled myself to get on the scale (Had to scrub off the dust) after nearly a year of stress eating. I’ve only gained two pounds–sheer proof I’m God’s favorite, or he’s merciful to fools.

🙂 Short vacation planned for later this week–with God’s grace the book can stay home and marinate and I can play.

😦 Every Sunday morning, when I come in, I have an opportunity to update iTunes from Apple.

  8. Kathaleena – Are you referring to a person I have exchanged comments with?

😦 I have someone like that in my life, too, & I happen to be the one she says false things about on Facebook. My niece is Facebook friends with her, too, but blocked me last year. That means that Niece can read C’s comments, but not mine correcting her mischaracterization of what I had previously written.

🙂 Heidi is on some new medicine that greatly reduces her itching, although it isn’t completely gone. It’s called Apoquel, & it doesn’t treat the source of the itch (her allergies), but doesn’t let the itch signal get to the brain. It’s mostly working. Unfortunately, it is pretty expensive.

However, the vet thinks once Heidi has been on it for the initial two-week period, as along as we supplement with allergy meds, we could cut the dose in half. (We still haven’t found an allergy med that works for her, but the vet suggested we try Allegra, which is one she hadn’t previously suggested.) At this point, the alternative would be to have Heidi on steroids (prednisone) more or less permanently, which could be damaging to her general health. (Not to mention that dogs on prednisone drink more water, causing them to have accidents in the house.)

🙂 This vet is allergic to cats & dogs, but loves them so much, she stays on allergy meds so she can be a vet, as well as having her own pets.

  9. A vet who’s allergic to cats and dogs??

😦 Cowboy’s skin also is flaring up a bit again.

🙂 A good morning at church with some time off ahead this coming week (thought it’s already getting overshceduled, I’m seeing a number of friends I don’t normally get to see + hoping for at least a bit of time to tackle some cleaning & reorganization projects in the house, though it’s doubtful much of that will get done this time around).

🙂 It will be good to be “away” from the grind for a little while. And I left behind a couple of stories for them to use in my absence. I’m sure the week off will go fast.

🙂 Dinner out tonight with a couple cousins I haven’t seen in a while. One of them has a dog who had to have one of her eyes removed this past week due to an infection. 😦 So I’m bringing over a doggie treat and toy.

  10. Donna – Heidi’s severe itching (with the hot spots & bare spots that come from her scratching) is caused by seasonal allergies, as well as being allergic to flea bites. The vet told us that (as with humans) her system gets more sensitive to the allergens each year, so each year the “seasons” begin earlier & last later. At this point, Heidi is bothered by them most of the year round, with a bit of a reprieve in winter. 😦

  11. 🙂 A good morning at church, and we even had several visitors. (Our largest family–who are nearly a quarter of the church all by themselves–were mostly gone, though, so the visitors took their place.)

🙂 My husband and I went to a state park this afternoon, one of our favorites. We went to the visitor center (they put birdseed outside for birds) and saw the young of at least four species of birds, a tiny cute species of squirrel I’d never seen before (we were told it was a red squirrel), and way too many chipmunks. Then we walked one trail and “dipped into” another.

🙂 Wildflowers were in full bloom, and I took multiple photos. Sometimes it isn’t clear whether two different flowers are the same species, but I am fairly sure I photographed 29 species (!), not counting berries and other plants that weren’t in flower. Some flowers weren’t all that exciting, but several were quite lovely. One species of butterfly cooperated as well.

🙂 My husband pointed out what looked to me like a rock, but I trusted him and took its photo. When I blew it up on my camera screen I could see the tiny lines on its shell, so I could see it was indeed a turtle. Once I put it on my computer, its head showed up too.
