¹Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
7 I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
The older woman I take to church has a doctor’s appointment at 8:45 this morning (about an hour from now) where she’ll (hopefully) at long-last get the results of several tests and what the doctor thinks is going on with her. But she was upset yesterday when a friend came up to her before church and insisted on going with her (I happen to think it’s a good idea, but N, my older friend, really bristled — I’ve never seen her angry before; but she agreed the other woman, who’s been a close friend to her for several years, could come along).
Her take on it was “they think I’m too old to understand” but I think it’s more about having two sets of ears and 2 people to ask questions is better than one (who will likely be under some stress and maybe not hear everything that’s said?).
Anyway, prayers that the appointment goes well, that the news is encouraging and that the two of them will get along well!
So my friend is back from the doctor’s appointment & the last test she’d taken (a PET scan) did indicate the presence of cancer somewhere, but there are no other indicators of cancer. There are 2 masses in her abdomen, but they are perfectly round and apparently not characteristic of cancer.
So N is now going to have to go to an oncologist. She’s pretty stressed, so pray for her peace of mind and patience as this particular trial continues on — and that whatever is wrong is not cancer or life-threatening. Thanks.

Today, we visited my dad, who is back in the hospital again for pneumonia. I would appreciate prayers for him and my family.
