Prayer Requests 5-27-14

Anyone have a request or praise they’d like to share?

Psalm 116

¹I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.

12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.

14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

19 In the courts of the Lord‘s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. Thanks for your prayers regarding my rash. My face is much better. It is going away and I think I figured out what happened. The rash on my neck is still there, but we will see. Not sure where I got all my latest bug bites. Perhaps sitting on the grass watching the Sports Day.

  2. Karen, you and Lee were part of the Prayers of the People Sunday in church. 😉

I have been having some terrifying thoughts recently of something happening to BG. All I can do when they pop in my head is stop and pray. What I really want is for them to go away completely and for her to be safe, healthy, and happy.

A prayer request for the little girl, Madison, with Down Syndrome, that I have mentioned before. Madison is a little over two years old now, & will be having another surgery tomorrow. Here is what her mother wrote on Facebook…

“Big day tomorrow! Madison’s next surgery. She will need an overnight stay at the PICU. Because of her heart issues, severe apnea, and hypotonia she is at risk for pulmonary over load so they closely monitor her airway and lungs. That said anesthesia comes with much risk, more than normal. Thus why cardiology wants a cardiac anesthesiologist at surgery.

“She has severe to moderate sleep apnea and may be deaf in one ear. She is still fed 100 percent g-tube. The surgery is to remove her adenoids and tonsils in hopes of helping the apnea. She doesn’t sleep at night because of the apnea and her breathing has gotten worse.

“We are praying for miracles that this surgery will correct the apnea, swallowing issues, and deafness.

“During the surgery they will be doing a special audiology test, it takes an hour to perform under anesthesia in addition to the surgery. This surgery will be at Yale not Boston. We interviewed a few surgeons and feel this is where God wants us.

“Please join us in prayer for miracles! God has GREAT plans.”

  4. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the privilege of prsying for young Madison. You have blessed her with believing parents who looked expectantly to you for good things to happen. They know Madison is in Your hands ultimately. They give You credit for keeping her alive this long even with her various health conditions that have needed major care. Please bless all those taking part in her surgery and care tomorrow. May the surgery outcome be what is expected or even better. May the auditory testing reveal what is necessary to correct her hearing. Thank You for the hope we have in medical technology and the skills to use it in the medical community. Thank You for good instructors in our medical schools. Bless Madison with a good attitude and help her parents and other family members to find strength in You when they feel weak with anxiety. Praising You from Whom all blessings flow. In the name of Jesus, Amen

  5. Need prayers for wisdom in dealing with special-needs son (age 10), who pounded his younger sister (age 6) on the back (with his hands) when he was angry at an inanimate object that wasn’t working right. He hasn’t exhibited behavior like that in quite a while.

More wisdom also needed for dealing with younger sister, who likes to “mother” him. She’s always looking out for him, knowing that there are things he doesn’t understand that she does, and she tries to protect him at all costs. It hurts her much more when consequences are delivered to him for doing such things than it hurts her to be on the receiving end of his aggression. She cries when he takes out his anger on her, but she runs from the room screaming when I ask her for her version of the events. She doesn’t want to say because she doesn’t want him to get into trouble 😦

I think there might have to be some serious tomato-staking. Please pray for wisdom, insight and vision. Thank you so much.
