Prayer Requests 5-24-14

Anyone have a request or praise to share?

Psalm 115

¹Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.

O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.

16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord‘s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.

18 But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.

  2. The rash is now going around my right eye. Now I am wondering about shingles. Sunday here, but I will be calling the clinic tomorrow. This is not getting better.

  3. Praying Jo! Shingles is potentially very painful and difficult to get rid of.

Pray for my friend Norma (82), the lady I drive to church every week. She’s had an ultrasound and they now want her to take a cat scan (no date set yet), there is some problem in the lower right abdomen. She’s pretty convinced it’s cancer (and it could be), so pray for calmness and peace as she goes through the difficult waiting period in between tests.

  4. Heavenly Father,

Today I look forward to being in church gathered with other believers worshipping You. You are our One Almighty God, Maker of heaven and earth. All praise, glory and honor on earth should flow to You for nothing great could happen except that You made this place upon which we dwell and You allow good things to happen.

Lord, I ask that You continue to bless Michelle with the flow of her writing. Please give her divine twists and turns that she knows are from You. I ask that distractions would dwindle and focus could be sustained.

Lord, please help Jo through the difficulties she is experiencing with the dreadful rash. I pray it is not shingles, but if it is, please get her relief quickly from the ravages of the pain. Thank You for medicines that help with such problems.

Lord, please help Norma with her waiting time. Give her pleasant thoughts of goodness You have planned for her. Please take away calamitous thinking. I pray You would take any knots of fear out of her insides and relace that with an overwhelming sense of Your divine love.

In the name of Jesus, Amen

  6. Thank you — pray for my neighbors, there’s been a sudden death over there tonight. 😦 I’ll find out more from them in the morning, but I’ve just been praying since it all woke me up a couple hours ago; they have a house full of relatives now (it’s about 4 a.m. here), thankfully they have a lot of family who live in town.
