Prayer Requests 5-12-14

Anyone have a request or praise they’d like to share?

Psalm 103

¹Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

19 The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

21 Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

22 Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.

  1. Ann–have you read any books about adult children of alcoholics? A friend forced me to read one (after insisting I read Prince of Tides to understand the affect of denial), and it really did change my life for the better.

    The most important thing to come of it, however, was the God-led ability to really think and pray through all the disappointments in my life that came from my dad’s alcoholism. No other members of my family would touch the book, and continued to “deal with it,” for ever, really, but it helped me forgive my father and learn to relate to him better without bitterness and anger. There were plenty of disappointments, of course, but the fact I worked through my relationship issues meant that when my mother died and my father fell apart, I was able to handle it better than my siblings.

    My father never admitted the drinking “issue,” and while he was forced to change his ways, the fall out from it affected always affected members of my family. We started talking about it only in the last years of his life and by then it was nearly too late.

    You may already have done this, but it’s important to learn how to love parents like this despite their failings. It helped me. Contact me for more information.

  2. Heavenly Father,

    Thank You for the routine blessings of the day and night and for those special things You do for us just to make Your personal love and care show for us as Your individual creations. You know our individual needs and wants even before we share them. This new day before the dawn I ask for You to amaze us once again with the healing power of Jesus. Please may His healing touch soothe away the pain and soreness in Michelle’s body. She takes good care of her body, Your holy temple. Please restore it supernaturally as only You have the power to do if it is Your will to show Your power in this way. I ask also that You would guide Michelle through the words, every inch of every sentence, that she needs to edit. Also, help her helpers in the process. Thank You for the significant difference Your wisdom and guidance makes to all our earthly endeavors and callings.

    Please, Lord, help Annms’s brother M. He continues to be tormented and needs Your divine help to conquer the distress he continually experience. We cry out to You to do something to bring him and his family members relief. Please do take hold of Annms’s mother and let her have a true look at herself and her condition. You know what it takes for truth to shock her into seeking treatment. Please give her vision of the beauty of her life when alcohol free. Give her desire in her heart to live out her days in the best way. Show her the wholeness she can have with You that alcohol can never give. Please help reconcile damaged relationships that alcohol has brought to ruin. Show Your new life powers in this beloved yet broken lady’s life. Please fix her day by day so she can know eternity with You and family. I pray in Jesus’ name.
