And today is Wednesday, so don’t forget The Gambia and our missionary friend who’s preparing for her trip back to the US.
Also, if you would be so kind, my wife has an interview today for another job within the company she works for. If you wouldn’t mind, could you pray for her too?
Thanks. 🙂
Psalm 99
¹The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.
2 The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.
3 Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.
4 The king’s strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
5 Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the Lord, and he answered them.
7 He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.
8 Thou answeredst them, O Lord our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.
9 Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy.
Sadly, the little girl who needed prayers went to be with the Lord yesterday morning. She left a mom, dad, sisters aged 6 and 11, as well as grandparents, great grandparents, aunts and uncles. I know that they will appreciate your prayers for their comfort and consolation.
Her aunt was a best friend of my wife, and grandfather plays with my wife in a summer concert band. In many ways the band is like an extended family — this is the second untimely passing for the band family this year, the first being a conductor who passed in March only 37 years old, leaving a wife and 7 year old son. Like the family of the little girl, they are devout, committed Christians. There will not be many dry eyes at the band’s opening concert in June.
Thank you for the blessings of this day. Sometimes during sad times like Roy’s family and friends know it is easy to overlook the blessings normally enjoyed. But You don’t fail to bless us through good and bad times. Please comfort those feeling acute grief today. It seems doubly sad when a child dies.
Thank You for the blessing of good communication. You are most excellent in that respect. Please bless AJ’s wife with a joyful confidence during her interview. May she not be stumped by any questions. May she be coached by the Holy Spirit at any time during the interview that she can not find a ready answer. Please reveal anything she needs to question the employer about to make sure she has all the information she needs for wise decision making. I pray the interview will be pleasant for her and the interviewer. Thank You for blessing her now, right before the interview, with calmness. You are our good God. We trust completely in Your provision. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen
Janice your prayer perfectly describes how my interview went..
I left the interview uplifted and encouraged which was a totally unexpected result. I have a second interview the end of next week and I went from feeling ambivalent about the position to feeling exciting and intrigued. I think I have a good chance at it and I have already learned a lot about myself in the process.
Thankful to hear about the good interview. I have been on both sides of the job interview and I know the possibilities, even that they can be quite enjoyable. And it is good to go into them with good expectations because “when God is for us, who can be against us?” He continues, day by day, to show His goodness and His love for us.
Prayers, please, for my brother, Mike. He had words with my mom the other day (when she was intoxicated). He was cast in the scapegoat role from a very early age. He has decided not to attend the wedding because of the turmoil. Thanks.
Please pray for me to do okay as fill-in for program leader. Happens in the range of 11 to 12 EST. Thanks.
