A dear choir friend (and his family) from church experienced the tragedy of their 27-year-old son killing his girlfriend and himself on Friday night. Last Wednesday, a graduating senior at the Christian school that several of our church youth attend killed himself. Please pray for our church in this time of grief.
When I turn my eyes up and behold the vast blue sky You made I am reminded of Your perfection in creation. We are blessed to see it here. Thank you. In other parts of the world the air is thick with so much smog that the people have to wear masks to filter the air they breathe. That is a reminder of how sin has clouded our world and brought darkness, sickness and gloom into our lives.
Lord, I pray this day that we can rise above this earthly realm infiltrated by sin. Please lift us all to Your blue sky region despite the awful things that happen around us and to us. Please help those in need in Linda’s church community. Help Kim as she is feeling knocked down and bruised by the heavy weights she carries, please use Your mighty lifty power to meet needs so Christians suffer only a momentary knock down but they are NOT destroyed. Please give Jo the relief of cold symptoms that hinder top performance and tend to bring on a bad mood during the suffering as plans are altered to accomodate the illness. Please help 6 Arrows to continue to keep at bay anything that tries to hinder her from meeting her priority commitments. Please help Lee and Karen to remain faithful during these testing times. Others have needs not mentioned. I interceed asking that whatever the situation for the readers of this blog and their families that You wouldmake them totally aware of how You are on their side going before them against whatever troubles them this day and for all the dsys of their lives. Thank You, Lord, for recognized and unrecognized blessings. In Jesus’name, Amen
Need prayers for a very ill little four year old girl and her family. Her older sister was ill and had to go to hospital; her mom brought older sister home and had to rush the four-year old to their hometown hospital, then Mercy Flight her to Phoenix. She has multiple infections, pneumonia, collapsed lung, and has been placed on an ECMO.
This morning, they are saying she has bleeding on the brain from the machine she is on and that she may not make it.
Please pray for healing for this sweet little girl, and that God will hold her and family in His loving care. May they be protected from all fear, and may God’s will be done and healing experienced in their lives.
Thank you so much, Janice. Your prayer means so much to me, as many times I waver in my commitments, and do certainly need prayer to, as you said, “keep at bay anything that tries to hinder [me] from meeting [my] priority commitments.” Very well said and appreciated.
Linda, I’m so sorry to hear that. What difficult tragedies. I will be praying for the families and your church family.
Roy, I will be praying, as well, for the 4-year-old girl and her family, with all they are going through. Thank you for mentioning them.
Follow-up on my father-in-law: today he gets out of the hospital, and will go to a nursing home for a temporary stay. Thank you for the prayers that have been offered up.
And a praise for my dedicated husband. He went to visit his dad four of the five days he was in the hospital, and on the one day he didn’t, he went to see his mom. He is so good about being there for his parents in their time of need, though we don’t live in the same state, and he’s very busy with his work. He’s an excellent role model for our children (and for his wife) in showing the importance of investing in the family with whom the Lord has blessed one. I am blessed to have such a husband.
Lord, thank you for 6 Arrow’s husband and that his father is able to get out of the hospital. We pray for speedy healing for him there. We pray for him to be a blessing to others there and for others to be a blessing for him. Thank you for all those who work in these places with dedication and patience.
We pray for the family of this little four year old. We pray for any answers the medical personal and family needs. We pray for your presence with them all and your healing touch. Nothing is too hard for you and you love to give your people gifts. We pray your best for this little child and her family. We pray your peace will be with them.
Heavenly Father, help these families dealing with murder and suicide. You know the horrible grief and guilt of those left behind. Help them to remember you never leave us or forsake your people. Help them to go to you for any forgiveness needed and to accept your gift of pardon. Help us to fill our young people with truth and hope. Help us to discern their thoughts and needs, so that we may help them. Help us not to be like the teachers of the law or the Pharisees, loading others up with burdens even we cannot carry. Help us to teach others to go to you who make our burden light.
Oh, Lord, how we need a great awakening in our country! How we need to get back to being lights that help others see your truth and especially the Good News! Help us lift others up towards you and be a blessing to those around us.
I just received an email through Apartment Life that has couples doing outreach events in apartment communities where they live. One of the team members, a family man in Houston, was shot and killed in his apartment garage while preparing for an event. Another sad tragedy to add to the growing prayer list for today. Prayers for comfort for the family and friends and also for all in the Apartment Life ministry.
