Prayer Requests 5-5-14

Anyone have a request or praise they’d like to share today?

Psalm 97

¹The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

²Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.

³A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

⁴His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

⁵The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

⁶The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

⁷Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.

⁸Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O Lord.

⁹For thou, Lord, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

¹⁰Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

¹¹Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

¹²Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

Please pray for my church COTA. We had some damage to our administrative building in last week’s flood. Our county has been declared a disaster area. We are expecting more rain the end of the week and are taking steps to mitigate any more damage. We (the Vestry) need wisdom to know the right decisions to make going forward.

Prayer please, for sixteen year old son (that would be S, Chas) who still experiences regular negative racial comments at school. He tends to ignore them or to say something over the other student’s head. Easy to do in many cases, I am afraid. We talk about it and why people feel the need to make those comments. Thanks.

Heavenly Father,

The sky is a perfect blue today. Thank You for the beauty and moods we find in the colors You made. They add great interest to a world that You chose to not leave in darkness or tones of gray.

Lord, Kim’s church and other areas in our land need major repair after the recent storms. Please help those in charge to make good decisions about the best options for repair. I pray for reasonable repair costs, q uality materials and workmanship. Please keep sham artists just looking for opportunities to swindle away from those in need of repairs. Please may all repairs be made in a timely manner. You know best. Please supply for this current need of many.

Please help the young man at the nest who struggles with unnecessary harassment over race issues. Wherever the thoughts are generated that are troubling, I pray for You to muzzle the source. You know the hearts that control the tongues. Please help Mumsee find additional ways to address this difficulty. May the lessons learned help the community to have better relationships in various forums.

Please help all our husbands who struggle with work overloads and/or vafious afflictions. I ask for salvation for ffamily members who do not yet believe in jesus as Savior. Please help those under various stresses because of issues with moving. Please help Karen with needing more rest. Help Donna as she works in a difficult industry. Thank you for praise she has recently received.

Again today Your blessings are piling up. May we notice more and more the blessings and less and less the things which bring on criticism. Make us to be readily rather than reluctantly grateful. I pray in Jesus’ name,
