Most of the news on FoxNews last night was about the Benghazi coverup. Fox is the only station giving it any coverage. But I think it’s a bigger issue that not even Fox considers. It’s bigger than the death of four men. The attack on the consulate was an attack on the United States. Nothing was done and nothing is being done. It is safe to attack the United States. They know where the perpetrators are but don’t want to violate Libyan territory to apprehend or kill them. (Or so they say.) I think it’s more than that.
They should have sent assistance to the Americans in the fight. And it would have been better for Obama if they had. The re-election campaign would have been better if Obama had taken forceful action. Much easier than lying and then hiding the evidence. The problem is, Obama is adverse to military action of any sort. But taking forceful action would have won him more points than trying to blame a source that inevitably would have been discovered. As it was. Now, all the world knows that the worst thing to come from Obama is a speech.
So. Who changed the talking points?
Can anyone say Valerie Jarrett?
That was my guess from the beginning, and I’m sticking to it.
I have pointed out several times on this blog that low/mid level bureaucrats don’t make those decisions. Someone with authority did it.
And I don’t think Obama is adverse to the use of force but is adverse to putting American lives at risk hence he uses predator drones more often than Bush.
Ask the north west frontier province of Pakistan and Yemen if he is adverse to the use of force
Bob — confirmation bias. Humans naturally take new information and analyze it according to the pre-existing framework in their minds. Only with a serious breach of this framework caused by technology, war, personal tragedies,e tc can make it change.
“1. The press says Obama is a great orator. I think W spoke better.”
Uh, uh, uh, Lincoln was a great orator. Has Obama come anywhere near him? How would Obama fare in a debate in the House of Commons? Which press conference has Obama done well in?
“2. Obama was a Constitutional law professor. Obama breaks laws.”
How has Obama been able to get due dates, time certain dates, deadlines changed in the ACA? The President is to “…faithfully execute the laws of the United States…”. Has he?
“3. Obama was a community organizer. The White House is so disorganized that they couldn’t even get the President to the Situation Room.”
I will give you this one. No one knows where Obama was. Well, he hasn’t told us where he was or what he was doing. I am too old to wait for the 50 years or so until all his secret papers, like the tapes of the various rooms of the White House are released.
“4. Obama’s budget is always voted down by almost 100% of the Senate. Obama complains about the Republican budget.”
If Obama is so against the Republican budgets, why doesn’t he come up with a serious one of his own? Of 100 Senators, some of them must be Democrats. Why do none of them vote for Obama’s budget? How do you pass the blame on to Republicans?
What do you like about Obama? Is there anything I should consider about the man?
I mentioned this before on another thread some time ago. Our Lions Club used to have a “Blind Ducky Race” for a fundraiser, You buy a ducky, they dump the bunch in a stream and the winners win good prizes, donated by merchants.
However, we had to trim the banks of brush to keep the duckies from being entangled.
We couldn’t disturb the creek. So, we couldn’t have the race. It was lots of fun until they caught up with us.
We never could find the person who had ultimate authority on this.
It was policy.
Chas, I think our local lions club used to have the same thing here — in one of the manmade creeks in the city park near where I now live. I remember doing press releases on it.
Since it wasn’t a natural stream, I suspect it didn’t ruffle anyone’s feathers. So to speak.
bob — not sure why you addressed your comments to me … i just mentioned confirmation bias which is a real phenomena. I used to see similar comments on Bush Jr. For example your House of Commons comment, this was a frequent comment by leftist when describing Bush. Personally I don’t think either Bush or Obama would fare well. Clinton maybe
Chas — its a legitimate concern. We’ve had similar races here but I think the organizers agreed they would collect every duck released and it was allowed to proceed. This reminds me. Several years ago a shipment of rubber duckies was accidentally dropped in the pacific ocean and since then scientist have been tracking ocean currents by noting where these ducks end up. Accidental science.

I am just confused. Does my dislike of Democrats and Obama go so far that I am unhinged, or is Obama as bad a President as I think?
1. The press says Obama is a great orator. I think W spoke better.
2. Obama was a Constitutional law professor. Obama breaks laws.

Chas; to be fair there have been seven embassy/consular attacks under Reagan and a dozen under Bush jr.

We all have a bias. But, seriously, this president has simply not been a roaring success.
