Prayer Requests 1-15-14

Anyone have a request or praise they’d like to share?

And it’s Wednesday, so don’t forget the Gambia.

Psalm 147:1-12

¹Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

  1. Prayer for son as he prepares to attend Idaho Youth Challenge. He is doing quite well in behavior, and needs help academically. We are hoping he will not have behavior setbacks but will catch up a lot in academics. I think he is ready to try and if they can build his confidence by giving him some success, he may actually get a diploma in a few years. Prayer for his spiritual well being is the priority.

  2. You got it Mumsee.

Ex husband is being more reasonable today. I have forgotten how to deal with him. Tell him what you want. Let him explode. Ignore him and do what you want. THEN he will think it is a fine idea and will go along with it.

  3. I am so grateful that my dad’s surgery went well. He had a very infected gall bladder. It was actually partly rotted and infecting the whole area. He has to take autoimmune drugs and it suppresses the symptoms that most of us would have. The doctor said anyone else would have been screaming in pain. He has been suffering for months off and on. We are grateful that the cause has finally been pinpointed and dealt with. I was unable to talk to him after the surgery, since the weather was getting bad and we had a long ride home, but I am sure it was a big relief to him.

He was insisting on leaving the hospital this morning before the surgery. So glad he didn’t! He has to be in extreme distress to go in at all.

  4. Thank you, Karen (and all others who prayed). It has been difficult to see him getting sick over and over. Very frustrating for him and all of us. You know how we hate to see those we love hurt.
