It occurs to me that we’ve gotten away from the thought in verse 11. When I was growing up, we had memory verses each week in Sunday School and there was a great emphasis on hiding God’s word in our hearts. I don’t hear much about that anymore. I think that maybe the plethora of information at our finger tips has lessened the need for memorizing anything because we can look it up so easily. Is the modern-day Psalm, “Thy word have I stored on my iPad” and is there a far-reaching impact on our young people who no longer memorize scripture?
Praises, Praises. I am in Sydney Australia and spending the night after 3 flights today. Two more tomorrow. Please pray there will be room on the Sydney to LA flight.
another huge praise. When I checked in in Port Moresby for my first standby flight the young man realized that I did not have the correct Australian visa and could not fly without it. I had gotten a new passport and my visa was linked to my old one, which I had with me. This young man must have spent 40 minutes working on getting me the correct visa, at no charge. If I had gone online, it would have cost me 20 dollars. It finally didn’t work, so he took all my info and went back and had his manager do it. Please pray for protection as they copied my passport and Port Moresby isn’t where you want to lose your info.
Keeping you in prayer Jo! Oh what a huge sigh of thanks you shall hear when you are safely landed in the USA!! 🙂
Linda, our grandkids are also memorizing scripture in Awana….and my daughter and sil are teaching them at home as well….now if I could just get through to them that David did not fight off a giant pickle….oh those Veggie Tales!!! 🙂
Don’t forget to pray for Ruth and Phos. They will be in the air soon. They fly from here to Brussels then to Chicago. In Chicago they split up once Ruth gets Phos to her plane. They will have wheelchair assistance in the airports and have passes to the first class lounge in Brussels.
PTL, Ruth and Phos were upgraded to business class for the flight to Brussels! That will make a huge difference in their comfort. They looked at the cost of business class, but it was going to cost them $5000 each.
hmm… that sounds really good. Wonder if the Lord is planning that for my day??? 🙂
But… I will be grateful for whatever comes and be grateful for His loving care.
So happy to hear Phos is begin taken care of so well.
Please pray for the strength & health of my husband’s heart. He works a physically demanding job, which is probably actually good for his heart. But lately he has experienced a sensation of his heart racing every now & then. Could be a combination of stress & not getting enough sleep, but I don’t know.
Not having health insurance right now, I’m doubting he’s going to go to the doctor. Please pray.
I’m glad for the updates on Phos! While I was cooking dinner, I thought, “I’d better check this evening and see if we have any updates.” It will be good to hear when she (and Jo!) have reached their destinations.
