Praise: two of the boys fell off the roof this morning. They were cleaning the chimney. Fortunately, it is not a big fall and it is our two most athletic boys. They both came out unscathed, though one deck chair was broken. The oldest started to walk down and realized it was too slippery so went to seated position. He thought of stopping himself at the rain gutter but did not want to spend the day repairing it, so let himself go over. The younger one saw where older went over and moved himself over a ways so he would not land on the first and went ahead. If it was me, I might have elected to ask for a sleeping bag and spent the winter up there. They jump that distance on a regular basis, so I guess it was not too bad. They found it thrilling and amusing. I know that people break arms and legs and worse that way. I am grateful.
Hubby said they did exactly the right thing. I worry when he goes up on the steep roof to clean our chimney so I make him tie in with a climbing harness 🙂 Glad your boys are okay and had an adventure!
I used to make them tie a rope around themselves and throw the end over to a child on the ground. But our roof is not as steep and the ground is not as far so we have adapted.
False alarm. The info came from their other brother. I finally got a hold of their grandma and he is alive and well, though not emotionally and he did make the attempt. He is in prison, they are supposed to be watching him.

I must say we don’t get many praises that start with “two of the boys fell off the roof this morning”.
🙂
Usually it’s a request asking for prayer for healing instead. 🙂

AJ, Clearly you need to plan a trip to Mumsee’s. I can SO see this happening. Oh! And sleeping on the roof is not out of the question! 😉

So when are you folks coming out, the real? Guest room is ready. Your daughter can sleep somewhere in the girl’s wing.
